Laxnes Hotel

“ The hotel was brilliant, it is in a fantastic location; it's on route 1 which is the main road around the country. The room was clean and bright with lots of storage and a nice bath/shower. Breakfast was available from 0730 to 1000 and there was a great variety to choose from. The staff were lovely. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anybody and would definitely stay here again if returning to Iceland.

“ Great value for money, could not believe it! The hotel is clean, the rooms are spacious with desk and ensuite bathroom, the view over the mountains is fantastic. The breakfast is continental buffet but not to miss the freshly made waffles! Can have homemade soup in the evening (a must try!) and drinks at the bar. The hotel has a games, books and a pool table, internet access (wireless and desktop use) and lots of maps/tour leaflets. Everyone speaks English and they are very nice people, happy to help. Would definitely go back there if in Iceland again. A bus to town is an option but hiring the car would be better, if you like to tour to the attractions yourself other than buying the expensive "tailor-made" packages.

“ Top Tip: A great pub and shop near the hotel, a local Icelandic restaurant only 5mins drive from the hotel. Easy to get to the capital and near major roads.
A local open swimming pool is walking distance.

“ For the little money it costs to stay here this hotel is a little gem! The rooms are clean and warm and spacious too. The hotel manager Shaun is very helpful and will book any trips for you and advise on ones to do. Will definitely go back.

“ Very clean, good sized rooms and excellent value for money. Very friendly and helpful owner and staff. Good location to travel to view northern lights and only 15 mins from Reykjavic.

“ Top Tip: White Knight sports bar and adjoining bakery just up the road provided good food at reasonable cost. We found taking route 36 into hills was good location to see Northern lights only 10 mins drive away.
