“ Excellent location right in the centre of Reykjavik. Close to all bars, restaurants and the main tourst attractions. Also close to where the excursions run from. We stayed in a studio to the rear of the hotel, it was comfortable with a kitchenette (with fridge, cooker, microwave etc), king sized bed and bathroom. The room was quite modern with ikea type furniture. The only down side was the smell from the bathroom when running hot water, but it soon became clear this was the same wherever you went due to the sulphur in the hot water supply!!! The breakfast was pretty good, cerial, fruit, breads, toast, meats, cheeses, tomatoes, cucumber, biscuits, juice and hot drinks etc. I would stay here again due to the loaction and its excellent value for money, £106 for the room for 3 nights!!
“ Top Tip: We ate at the tapas restaurant down the hill towards the harbour, the italian left out of the hotel on the right and the Solon bar. All were good. The icelandic bar is nice too.

“ Good value for money in a very convenient and central location in downtown Reykjavik. Very clean and comfortable. Would certainly stay again.

Top Tip:
There are many good restaurants and bars nearby. The oldest cafe in Reykjavik, Prikid, serves a variety of hearty burgers at reasonable prices to the sound of 70s music in a slightly run-down setting. The young staff all speak English and are very amiable.
For a gourmet dinner then go to Restaurant Laekjarbrekka which is housed in a 19 century townhouse further down the street. Can thoroughly recommend pan-fried Puffin and the Lamb and Langoustine.

“ This hotel is situated in the center of the main shopping street, you literally walk out the door into the main area. The staff are extremely helpful and the rooms are spotless. There are lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Friday and Saturday nights can be a little noisy if you haven't had a few drinks as they party on til 5am in Reykjavik. In general I thought this Hotel and its staff where fantastic and would definitely recommend it.
“ Top Tip: Before we went we read how expensive alcohol was, this wasn't the case, most bars had happy hour until 8pm which meant that you could have 2 beers for the price of 1, which came to around €5 for the two. Food is a little bit more expensive than then the uk but not too bad. The Icelandic people are really friendly and very helpful and seem to have a great sense of humour. Class wee nick nak shop on the main Laugarvegur street, called TIGER cheap and cheerful for pressies
