“ The strength of this hotel lies in its situation and its staff. It is close to the Duomo in the very centre of Florence. I found everything I wanted to see within walking distance including the Accademia, the Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio etc.8.8 Excellent

“ A superb and welcoming hotel in the middle of Florence's medieval centre. The staff are friendly attentive and extremely helpful. I suffered from toothache while I was there and the reception phoned a dentist for me and arranged a booking within minutes. I told the hotel before my visit that it was a special occasion (it was my wife's birthday) and we were upgraded and given a free bottle of Prosecco. The room was beautifully furnished and roomy with a superb view of the Duomo and the bell tower. Breakfast was full and varied with an extensive buffet to choose from. The situation of the hotel mean that most of Florence's attractions were just minutes away. I would never want to stay in another hotel in Florence.
“ Top Tip: There is a great (but tiny) restaurant for lunch in the Via Cerci, just seconds away. Take an open-top bus ride from the station to Fiesole. It's worth it.

The strength of this hotel lies in its situation and its staff. It is close to the Duomo in the very centre of Florence. I found everything I wanted to see within walking distance including the Accademia, the Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio etc. Restaurants of all kinds are close.
The room was quiet, which was what I'd asked for and the bed extremely comfortable. Buffet breakfast was excellent: fresh fruit, prosecco(!), cereals, meats. cheese, scrambled egg and "bacon" Italian style.
Staff at all levels went out of their way to be friendly and helpful.

“ I visited the hotel 3 years ago and loved it, hence return visit. The hotel was as good as before with the exception of one member of staff on check-in. He was more interested in selling us a suite than taking the voucher. After 4 attempts I had to force him to take it before going to room. He insisted on a £300 deposit on my credit card which given the hotel was paid for was unnecessary but he failed to provide an explanation. I gave up after that! On evening before I left a helpful desk person checked us in for flights and printed boarding pass. I asked about what I needed to pay on leaving and was told the room was not paid - when I insisted that I had given him the voucher he was arrogant and dismissive and said "local taxes" and walked away. Next day I paid the 24 Euros and hope no other charges were taken on my deposit - was told it would be cancelled. Not very satisfactory. All the other staff were great as was the breakfast. Room was ok - small for an Executive and badly laid out in my view. Overall I was disappointed and would not book that hotel in future. One person can really make a difference - both good and bad.
“ Top Tip: I would recommend Boccodama restaurant near Santa Croce- Florence steak amazing.

“ Fantastic location for all of the city's sights, very friendly helpful staff. Only minor disappointment was our bathroom had no bath, only a shower. However this would not prevent us staying here again, I would just make sure to request one next time!
“ Top Tip: La Bussola - An exceptional restaurant with fantastic food and great friendly staff, would highly recommend!
