  • Having read some adverse comments about this hotel prior to our stay, we found the hotel to be well worth the stay. Minor criticism of reception staff, who gave mixed information about the ferry times out of season, but generally found staff friendly and helpful.

Great location in the heart of things but is noisy at night due to this central location.

Having read some adverse comments about this hotel prior to our stay, we found the hotel to be well worth the stay. Minor criticism of reception staff, who gave mixed information about the ferry times out of season, but generally found staff friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice, and the height of luxury was to be able to enjoy the thermal spa facilities. Breakfast was OK with plenty of choice, and we chose to dine out, as there are some very nice restaurants no more than 50 metres from the hotel, or a 2-3 minute walk if you want to venture a little further into the town. Thoroughly enjoyed our time in Sirmione, and our stay at this hotel.

Top Tip: During October, the ferry service across the lake to other towns is limited. Effectively, Lake Garda is cut in half, and the furthest north you can get by ferry from Sirmione is Garda. A trip from Sirmione to Garda or Lazise is worth the effort (we went to Garda for lunch, took another ferry back to Lazise, then caught the last ferry from Lazise to Sirmione, which takes you back along the coast to Bardolino and Garda, which turns into a lovely sunset cruise if you're as lucky with the weather as we were at this time of year, October).

Check-in date:

accommodation and attendance v good -receptionv helpfull- service in restaurant poor - some had a personality bypass and were certainly not customer aware /watchfull of need particularly over breakfast .

location first class.

this was our second visit - still good but not as good as we remembered it for the reasons given

Top Tip: the bar across the square from the Sirmione Hotel and 2 away from the Hotel Eden was a great bar for pre dinner drinks and to watch the world go by with good service
Taxi service said to call them to confirm return booking to airport was compusory -despite doing this with call / text 3 times no reply given -we were left wondering if they would come - they did but 25 min later than advised after hotel reception managed to make contact- however general service was good.
