Grand Hotel La Pace

“ Hotel was bright, clean and shining, but in the wrong place. A walk to the village about 1m away entailed a hazardous walk down (and UP!) a busy, narrow, hilly road, only part of which had a pavement.

Breakfast variety was first class - even champagne breakfast if you wanted it.

Evening meal was ruined by the over-cooking of food in main course. Starters and sweets were really good so great pity about main dish.

Restaurant staff were very friendly and took time to talk and know their clients.

“ A very large hotel about 20min walk into sorrento. The staff were very helpful. Rooms were cleaned twice a day. Non stop,supply of clean towels. Very relaxed atmosphere. The hotel is used a lot by American and German tours which means the hotel is empty in the day, which was lovely as we had the pool and bar to,ourselves. The hotel offers a shuttle bus service into sorrento, which is extremely handy. Went as a couple but are considering returning with the children.

“ This hotel is beautiful. The decor is grand and everywhere is clean and pristine. We were upgraded to a Suite and it was very spacious and decorated to a high standard. There were 2 juliet balconies and a jacuzzi bath. Large TV's in the lounge area and bedroom. Each evening you were brought a little delicacy and a good night card which was a lovely addition. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a fantastic variety for a continental breakfast, you could even have a glass of sparkling wine. The pool was small but again very well kept and clean. Our only negative comment would be about the food in the snack bar. We decided to order hamburger and fries. The hamburger was 9 euro but what you got for that was just the burger with some cheese on, no burger bun or bread. The fries were an additional 4.50 euro. If the food was cheaper, I would have gladly stayed and ate at the hotel (as it was a delicious burger). Instead we either went to Sorrento or to a little pizzeria just a short walk away. Going back to positive again, the hotel puts on a shuttle bus every couple of hours into Sorrento, again, another gesture that makes this hotel 'spectacular' for us. We are getting married in Sorrento next year and are aiming to persuade all our party to stay here, because we enjoyed it so much and want everyone to experience this hotel.
