Situated in an ideal area, The American Palace offers easy access to the centre via the underground train service. It has leafy surroundings, expansive public areas and is close to several shopping centres. The hotel is large and spacious with a number of meeting rooms for work purposes. The rooms and suites are all well furnished and each one has a balcony. The restaurant offers a variety of menus with fish dishes being the speciality.

Excellent location.
Hotel and Restaurant helpful. Attracts overnight coach trippers which may mean staff overstretched in restaurant. Excellent buffet breakfast in comparison with others experienced.
My second visit and sadly on both occasions work was being carried on in rooms, which was at first an irritation but not as bad as before.
No swimming pool a disadvantage.
Room safes a very welcome feature.
Single room small but quite adequate, located at back of building (away from front traffic noise)
Would certainly return, but maybe check they're not hammering early in the morning or reconstructing rooms next door. Good value for money is the major attraction.
“ Top Tip: Excellent location opposite Underground Station Laurentina, a 25 minute ride from central sights and location (Termini). However, underground stops really early although there are night buses from town. Taxi rank adjoins. No restaurant alternatives within immediate environment. Handy supermarket next to nearby church.

“ Staff unhelpful, room below average, facilities lacking and nothing nearby - Also room was extremely small like an attic room with sloping ceilings, so constantly hitting ones head.
“ Top Tip: Nothing great close by, only the Metro which was handy ut too full on many occasions.

“ The room we were first allocated was tiny & when we asked if we could be moved to another room with a little more space & a bath we were told that this would mean upgrading to a suite at an additional €150 per night. After speaking to a maid she informed us that we had the smallest room in the hotel & that there were bigger rooms that were not suites. We were eventually successful in getting our room changed on the 3rd day. Although the hotel was ideally located for public transport, it lacked in restaurants in the surrounding area.
