The Hotel dei Consoli is located in the verdant setting of the Alban Hills, just a few kilometres from the papal summer residence at Castelgandolfo and Lake Albano. The territory is famed throughout the world for its wine, but especially for its ancient Roman origins, traces of which can still be seen. The charming nearby hill towns have been a favourite destination of tourists since the Roman age, and they are referred to in association with the 19th century grand tours of Europe's most celebrated travellers. The newly built structure was designed to satisfy all modern hotel service criteria.
All the rooms are decorated in a refined, elegant style, from the parquet floors to the curtains. All rooms are equipped with every convenience including air conditioning, refrigerator bar, telephone and satellite TV.

“ Difficult to find the main entrance which is furthest away from the road. Beware when arriving late that room service stops at 10.00pm.

This hotel is reasonably good but falls down on attention to detail.
1. there was only one clothes hanger in the wardrobe
2, you had to request tea making facilities in the room and when they arrived there was no milk which you had to request separately.
3. although the breakfast choice was generally good the hot food selection was always cold.
4. the return free airport shuttle was fully booked but you had to complain before an alternative was offered.
5. finally this hotel is situated in rather run down area with no nice local restaurants, especially as the hotel has no restaurant.

The Hotel was new, clean & the staff were very helpful & most could speak English. The rooms were quite large, there was a kitchen area, but no cooking utensils. The breakfasts were quite good with a choice of cereals, toast, yogurts, sweet tarts, cake, bacon & scrambled eggs.
The down side they don`t provide evening meals & the nearest resturant is over 1k away. But overall my wife & I enjoyed our stay.

After eventually finding the hotel from poor directions from the reception, I arrived there to a small room.
The bathroom was untidy with hairs on the floor and in the shower, the toilet was not clean, the room was overheated with no air conditioning on
So overall not that great experience!!!

“ Excellent hotel for proximity to Rome without paying central rome prices for a 4 star. Booked a quad room and that is exactly what we got with plenty of room for whole family, with clean room. Plenty of parking facility
“ Top Tip: Beach is about half an hour drive away; if coming from an airport with own transport, find Appia Nuova road and keep driving for a long time; very long road and access to hotel is off this road
