Hotel del Sole al Pantheon has the blessing of a prime location: it stands just in front of the Pantheon in the charming Piazza della Rotonda close to Navona square, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. The bedrooms are each individual in decor but similar in mood, with colour-coordinated bedspreads and draperies. Amenities: air conditioning, TV sat, minibar, safety box, hairdryer and telephone with direct line. Every morning a complimentary newspaper will be offer directly to your room. From the hotel lobby, doors lead into the various lounges, which maintain elegantly simple, uncluttered look with white walls, white upholstered chairs and sofas, and antique accent pieces.
One floor up is the lovely interior garden-patio. In the summer, the sumptuous breakfast buffet is served on the restaurant's terrace. A bar with 'Happy Hour' in the early evening and the 'American Bar' till late, offers a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. From the late afternoon, light snacks and refreshments turn the bar into a cosy coffee shop.

“ My wife and I stayed for 4 nights from 27 Mar, we had room 214 which is at the back and was nice and quiet, albeit you hear the restaurant staff setting up breakfast from about 7 o'clock. The room was small but comfortable, but being at the back there was not much natural light. The continental breakfast was first class with a wide selection of fresh produce and we found the staff very helpful and courteous.
“ Top Tip: Eating out is expensive, but you will know that anyway. You will save money if you want to eat in the side streets away from views. Opposite the hotel in the far corner on the right (towards Piazza Navoanna) the restaurant does have a good 'specials' deal and you are still sitting in the square looking at the Pantheon.

“ I would say that the staff were very helpful and the decor of the hotel was lovely, the service was very good and the room was wonderful. The bathroom was on the small side so I think a family might struggle with that. Our room had a magnificent view of the Pantheon, overlooking the piazza where there were plenty of restaurants to choose from.
“ Top Tip: There was a wonderful shop serving so many varieties of ice cream along the side streets running from the piazza. I learnt that you need to pay at the till first for your ice cream and then take your ticket to where the ice cream is served. Just take a stroll down the side streets, it seems that there is always something to see wherever you end up but be sure to have a good map to find your way back, it's easy to walk a long way without realising it.
