“ Overall the hotel was great. It would have been nice if the bar had some snacks available to purchase. We asked if we could sit on the roof and were told yes by one person and no by another. We went anyway! The staff are excellent!

“ The hotel is very close to the Termini providing easy access to public transport for visiting all the tourist sites (we bought a 110 sightseeing bus ticket which cost 20 euros per person and lasted 48 hours. Not bad value and earphones provided for the recorded tour guide but the stops were few and far between and sometimes a little out of the way from where we wanted to get to). Rooms small and nowhere near as grand as they appear on the website (are they ever!) but spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely with a good selection. The bar was surprisingly cheap but closed too early (information leaflet said open til 1am but we only just managed to grab a drink on our return at 11.45pm before the bar closed). The only other negative was that the rooms didn't have tea/coffee making facilities which was disappointing. After walking around Rome for several hours it would have been nice to get back to the room for a nice cuppa. The hotel is in a quiet area but there are several nice pizzerias/restaurants nearby, all very reasonably priced.
“ Top Tip: The hotel is within walking distance from all the places of interest - Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps about 15mins, Colloseum 25-30mins and the Vatican 45-50mins. There are a lot of steep streets and steps so make sure you wear comfy footwear and invest in a good map. The Vatican gets very crowded with hundreds of guides leading large tours but I would recommend taking the guided tours (about 45 euros per person which takes you around the Vatican museum and gardens, the Sistine Chapel and into the Vatican) as the guides provide some interesting facts and you miss out on the queues which were huge. My only problem with our particular tour was that the guide abandoned us outside the Vatican at the end of the tour and we were unable to access some parts of the Vatican without a guide so make sure the guide takes you right into the Vatican before he/she leaves you.

“
Hotel was very much a 3*** rating , definitely not a 4***. The decor in the room was nice. Room facilities was basic, no shower gels in the bath room, showercap etc... Bedroom was very small for a twin room, the bed was about 2" from the bathroom door, so it was difficult getting in and out of the bathroom.
There was no tea and coffee making facilities, we had requested a kettle and was advised this was not available. There was no iron in the room, this again was requested and we were told it was not available and forbidden!
Breakfast was average, food was lukewarm although it should be a hot buffet breakfast. My friend requested gluten free food and we were told prior to arriving at the hotel that this request was noted, unfortunately it was only a bread roll and cake!
“ Top Tip: Restaurants were okay, nothing great to report. Be prepared for hidden extras when paying the bill.
