“ Although the exterior of the building looks a bit tired and could do with some updating, our room was more than adequate for our 5 night stay - ask for a room overlooking the garden, as it's quieter. We found the staff to be both efficient and cheerful, and helpful in every way. The breakfast buffet was of a good standard, being both plentiful and varied. There is a fixed price dinner at 18 euros, as well as individual dishes around the 7-10 euros mark, with selected wines starting at about 10 euros.

Top Tip:
As there are few restaurants in the immediate area, you may prefer to take a short walk ( 8-10 mins) to Ungheria piazza, and take the no. 3 bus to Trastevere district on the west bank of the Tiber to enjoy a more lively and varied evening meal, returning on the no. 3 bus returning to Thorvaldsen.
Avoid eating at locations near the major sites - eg. 2 coffees across from Colosseo cost 10 euros, meals at 50 euros - aye, right!!
The best way to the Vatican is also from Ungheria square by taking the no. 19 tram going to Piazza del Risorgimento.
The Cotral direct bus from Fiumicino to Termini costs only 4 euros.

“ This was our 3rd visit to this friendly hotel. It is peacefully situated in a residential area -the restaurant is excellent serving a 4 course meal for 18 euros -in the summer you can dine out in their huge garden which makes a lovely change from the hectic pace of the city-well air-conditioned,friendly genuine family run hotel.The bus ride into the city is a small price to pay for the quality you get in this city hotel.

We had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel on the whole,only found one thing lacking which was there was no bar as such,which would have been nice to come back to for a quiet drink as we were a little way out from the center of town.
Apart from that all good and would definately stay again.
“
Top Tip:
Did find a good little bar accross the road from the hotel,
though opening hours seem to change from day to day.
