I thought this hotel was very good value for money. The room was clean and comfortable and staff quite friendly and attentive. Towels were changed as required. The breakfast was plentiful and the dining room comfortable and relaxed. We did find it noisy one or two nights which was due to some other guests being inconsiderate. The public transport is cheap and buses quite frequent, so we didn't find getting into Rome during the day any great problem. The restaurant directly opposite the hotel on the other side of the square is fairly priced and friendly and there are a couple of good Pizzerias near the bus stop further down the hill.

was pleasantly surprised after all the bad reviews i had read about this hotel. Yes the rooms are small and yes not really soundproof but the hotel was clean the staff courteous and the food was good The only downside was the distance into rome itself but the number 32 bus takes you to the vatican If you get a day ticket 3 euros you can travel around rome all day so it doesnt cost a fortune For the price we paid this hotel was good value A word to all the picky people if you expect the ritz go somewhere else and pay the price

Not a great hotel - the bathrooms are tiny - ours had a badly stained, cracked bath, and a dripping ceiling from the bathroom above. The rooms are spacious but sparse, wood floor instead of carpet which is ok but cold on your feet in colder weather. Pillows were flat. The wi-fi did not work while we were there. The food was average - you can do better just by going for a 5 minute wander and eating locally, or better yet eat in town before you head back to you hotel.

On a good note - it is not far from the vatican, only 25 minutes on a bus to the nearest metro station (Ottaviano) which is also the closest metro stop to the Vatican. There is also a taxi rank right outside.

Top Tip: Right across the square in front of the hotel, there is a little hill that looks nothing more than an informal car park. f you head through there there is a hidden pathway and immediately on the other side is a little pizza place that does the most divine Italian sweets/desserts!

The staff were very helpful. The room was clean, although very small/compact. It is not very close to Rome centre or Metro, there was a bus but it didn't turn up and had to get a taxi. Probably due to the snow though.
The bar was very nice and relaxing.

Top Tip: We went to Rome for the Rugby and this Hotel was good for that as we managed to walk to the Olympic stadium.
There is a Taxi rank in the square outside the Hotel which was very handy.

Just returned from a great 4 days in Rome, the hotel is in a quiet residential part of town about 2 miles from the center but very close to a bus route so dont be put off with the location.
Number 32 bus will take you to the Vatican where you can access the A line metro that will take you to the center and other attractions on the way.
The breakfast is continental which is normal in italy.
The rooms are very clean and maid service changes the towels and cleans the rooms daily.
Just across the square is a very quaint restaurant with quite reasonable prices (for Rome) about 20% cheaper than the hotel restaurant.
The staff are very friendly which sets a good impression on arrival.
All in all we were very impressed with our stay at The Grand Fleming Hotel.

Top Tip: For eating, the quaint old streets of Trastevere district are a must visit, its very well priced and is like turning back the clock 30 years, lovely area too.
For transfers to and from the airport check out www.airportshuttle.it well priced and a very good service.
