“ Nothing like the photos. Only the lobby and resturants are attractive. The rooms are old and nothing like the photos.

The whole hotel has the feel of a university hall of residence. Someone had a style idea and was is a charmless 80s kitsch. Desperately in need of a major upgrade. The room seemed to be furnished from an office furniture shop, and ended up being simply dated and drab. The bathroom was dirty, as were the towels.
The breakfast was adequate but cold scrambled egg is not pleasant. The bar turns into a full volume disco several nights of the week so people on lower floors need not expect to sleep before midnight.
The surrounding area was full of drunks (the back of the hotel is a dumping ground for the belongings of rough sleepers) at night and lacked proper pavements or lighting. Many of the surrounding buildings are undergoing major works so there is a lot of building noise by day.
It will appeal to a younger, less discerning crowd who will not care about its style pretensions or even find it "cool" (which is what the hotel seems to be aiming at). For a tired and cranky 50 something couple it was a long way from the 4* relaxation we expected.
“ Top Tip: The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the heart of trastevere, which is full of restaurants and wine bars. However turn along the main road going out of town and there are some excellent bistros catering to the locals. The food is as good or better than the tourist haunts and half the price and you don't have to walk past drunks staggering along the street with open bottles of super strength lager on your way home.
