Hotel Carlton on the Grand Canal

“ The bedrooms are tiny. We booked a standard double and the door opened outwards onto the landing! Our friends paid £200 per night more than us for an upgraded room which was also very disappointing in size

“ Great hotel ,friendly staff very clean, and handy for the water taxis and vaperretos. The breakfast had plenty of choice and the coffee was great to get you ready for a day in venice!

“ A very nice hotel in a great location. All staff were very friendly and helpful with all questions answered. We had the deluxe room with the canal view. Very happy with the room, the only thing to say is that it is directly opposite the train station - noise-wise this was not an issue at all however it is a bit unsightly on the eye but this is only if we are being picky! Breakfast was good - continental was included but you had to pay a premium if you wanted anything hot other than scrambled eggs.

No noise problems fom tourists outside and a well decorated room in the typical Italien style.

Boats can be expensive from the airport to the city however the bus terminal is less than 5 mins walk and takes 20 mins from there directly to the airport and vice versa for €5 single and is very easy to use.

“ Top Tip: Take a 10 min walk away from direct tourist areas and the ridiculous prices for coffee etc drops considerably.

“ Staff were extremely helpfull and polite. The room was spotlessly clean and this was maintained on a daily basis.
We didn't eat at the hotel but heard good reports from other guests and given the time we would have liked to try it.
On the whole we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay there again.
