Hedonism II Hotel

“ hotel as advertised. suitable for open minded adults . room was fine and everything worked, food was excellant. pool areas were lovely but beach needed some work to improve, ie a few tonnes of sand !!. staff were excellant as were the other guests.

“ This was our 9th trip to Hedonism II and we have found, over the years, that everything about the resort has declined. It is only the people who make this resort worthwhile and that is the only reason we have gone back so many times. Friends made at Hedo are friends worth keeping and meeting again and again. The rooms were refurbished a few years ago, but to a very poor standard, which means that only a few years on everything is failing. Some of the rooms (the first to be refurbished) have not got adequately working air conditioning. The workmanship on the showers was so poor that they look tatty and ancient, paint and plaster is flaking from the walls of the rooms. The number of staff has been severely decreased, meaning that the ones who are there are working twice as hard but not able to do the job to the standards expected of a 4* hotel. The food is nowhere near as good as it used to be and the standard in the Italian restaurant has fallen. The male EC's (in particular Jermaine) tried but didn't have the effervescence of previous EC's (Winston excepted, who has always been, and still is, magnificent), the girls made no effort at all. The GM is not a "people person" and falls short of the approachability of Richard Bourke or Joseph Smith . There is not enough outside seating to have conversation at reasonable levels in the evening and the piano bar appears to have karaoke every night and Dion, who comes nowhere near the standard of Dave, plays a highly amplified keyboard instead of the piano on which it is placed. The concrete under the man-made part of the beach was showing and made walking uncomfortable. The water slide, only a few years old, is broken and out of commission and undergoing major refurbishment. The music by the nude pool was, however, much better than previous years. The hot tub was back to the standard of the "old days" with unmentionable substances floating in it most evenings. The new towel system works, no more running out of towels mid-afternoon but many other items of both food and drink ran out periodically. As mentioned earlier, it is the PEOPLE who make this resort as the place itself is only a 2* hotel at 4* prices
