“ My girlfriend and I decided to go to Riga on a quick mini-break and decided to stay in this hotel based on the price and the reviews on this website. I have to say that we were not disappointed. The room was very neat, clean, and pleasant (if a bit smaller than the equivalent room in the uk), and definitely well worth the price. We paid about £50 less each for 3 nights at this hotel than any other equivalent hotel and I can't see where another hotel would have made this cost worthwhile. The only real criticism was that at night the rooms became incredibly hot. There did seem to be a panel on the wall to control a fan/air conditioner, but I couldn't get it to work - so we just opened a window and problem solved! Once we found our bearings and got to grips with the little cobbled streets in riga we soon found that the hotel is right at the southernmost point of central riga, with tons of bars, restaurants and all the tourist sights within about 10-15 mins walk and the huge central market just 10 mins to the south. In all the hotel met our needs very well for our visit, and we would most certainly stay there again or recommend it to others.

Top Tip:
On the first night we ordered steaks and thought that they were a bit expensive...until the arrived. They were absolutely fantastic! If you're not travelling on a budget I would highly recommend getting yourself a steak in Riga (we just went to a chain steak-house, but anywhere should be good). If money's getting a bit tight just try the pork or chicken for an equally tasty and much cheaper option.
Also, the staff at a lot of restaurants, bars, and the hotel could seem a bit unfriendly. Everyone seems to speak English, but try making a bit of an effort - ask how to say things in Latvian and learn a bit of the language (please and thank-you is a good start!) and they soon warm up!
