“ Very freindly and welcoming. Fabulous breakfast, huge choice and a view to die for while you eat. Pool area, again fabulous and that view is amazing you can while away the time watching yachts slipping by, pool is huge for a good swim.

“ The Phoenicia lived up to expectations. It is beautifully restored to its art deco splendour. The public areas are spacious and well maintained, the gardens are extensive and the pool area, overlooked by the walls and the bastion has a great view.

“ Very pleasant traditional hotel; clean and comfortable rooms and stunning views from the roof-top restaurant and terrace. We dined out so can't speak for the restaurant; breakfast was more than adequate with plenty of choice.

“ Hotel was basic but very good. Staff and Management very helpful. Good restaurant in Hotel. Very central and most rooms have views of harbour. We had a booking at beginning of holiday for 3 nights and decided to go back to same hotel at end of holiday for a night. Hotel is not plush but suited our needs. Also rooms and bathrooms very clean.

“ I liked the staff in the hotel and this is the one thing that would encourage me to go back. There were a number of things that the hotel needed, although a re-furb is happening this year and next in relation to 25 of the rooms.
