Visit this Dorset gem and you will not be disappointed. Nestling beneath Hambledon Hill the Saxon Inn is one of the most delightful and picturesque country inns you could ever encounter. Dating back some 300 years it was comprised of three secluded agricultural cottages which were eventually combined the Inn started life as The New Inn in the 1950s. The name was changed some years later to The Saxon Inn. In 2007 the inn was sympathetically extended and has four sumptuous en-suite letting rooms the bar and dining areas have lovely old beams log fires and a warm inviting ambience created by hosts Peter and Helen Turner who have put their experience to excellent use in making the Saxon Inn one of the most appealing pubs for many miles around. Butcombe Bitter and Gales Seafarer are the regular real ales joined by a changing programme of guest ales all kept in tip-top condition - CAMRA Good Beer Guide approved of course.
