Our experience at this hotel left much to be desired. To start with no one on reception spoke English. Our room was extremely cold and the heater did not work properly. The hot plate in kitchen was a disgrace see photos attached.Breakfast was a joke and you could not get anyone to understand. The shower stall was very antiquated and sprayed more water on the wall than on the person. The drain did not work properly and the water was left standing. The outer cover on the bed was stained and looked dreadful. The pillows were like rocks.
The Tour Guide representative Abdo only appeared once and we booked a trip to Marrakesh. Up at 5 am back at midnight. We were rushed through the souks and had no time to look. The restaurants were very poor and also the food. We were dropped off at an Apothecary and had to spend an hour there. We attempted to get in touch with Abdo at the end of our trip to discuss what arrangements had been made for our pick-up back to airport. Could not get any reply to the number we had. On the day of departure we tried 3 times unsuccessfully to contact him by telephone asking one of the desk clerks to make call as no one wanted to speak English. Exactly 1-1/2 hours before our scheduled leave time was contact made and we were told of our pickup time. The trip back to the airport was very good and in a lovely coach, instead of the old dilapidated vehicle which took us on our arrival.
Outside of the hotel we met wonderful people and did enjoy our holiday. The weather ws exceptional and the beach promenade at Agadir is fabulous. We certainly would not recommend this old tired hotel. It definitely needs upgrading and certainly service needs to be improved greatly.
“ Top Tip: Wonderful restaurant down the road called Mersesquez

“ We were very happy with the Golden Beach hotel It is relatively small - quite different from some of the enormous hotels along the strip. The very helpful man on reception helped us to change to a room overlooking the pool which was much quieter than the one near the road we had for the first night. There is still building work going on to the left of the building so see if you can change the room if you are given one on this side. Our apartment (we had a junior suite) was unusually large, very clean and was fully equipped with a fridge, microwave and two hobs. We also had a balcony so we had breakfast there some mornings. There were no mugs, just glasses and tiny coffee cups so you could either buy some or take your own. The apartment was cleaned daily. The pool area was kept lovely and clean - my only complaint was the unnecessary piped music. The restaurant attached to the hotel did nice and reasonably priced food if you didn't want to go too far although the choice was limited. If you are booking this hotel please be aware that it is at the far end of the beach from the main part of Agadir - beachside cafes or the older part of town are quite a trek away - we tended to get the mini taxis which were pretty cheap.
“ Top Tip: It is worth getting a taxi to the Uniprix (near Hotel Kamal) for cheaper beer and wine if you want to keep some in your fridge and also for going to some of the restaurants near there (Ibtissam for e.g.) which are generally cheaper than on the front. Cafe des Dunes, Camel, Jour et Nuit were reasonable cafes along the front and they also did good value set lunches. For a change of scenery go and visit the new Marina at the other end of the beach, and wander round the other side of the port to see the fish market and tiny restaurants there. You can also go to the Yacht Club through the port, but make sure you take your passport with you as you will have to show this.

The rooms are large and well kitted out. There are towels to use and you can get more towels for the swimming pool area. It is at the far end of town meaning quiet at night but only costs 15 Dirhams (£1.20) for a cab into the main touristy strip with restaurants etc...
The beach is 100m over the road. Staff freindly and very helpful. Food can be ordered to the poolside. Lifeguard is on duty at all times.
“
Top Tip:
The local buses from the bus station are cheaper than the excursions but be prepared for a wait on the way back.
Speaking french and even for women to cover their heads gets you treated better.

“ Very pleasant stay. Went on my own but found most of the staff very friendly. Although a 4*, upon arrival I felt the hotel was a little dated but the room and facilities were fine and very clean. Must say, it did feel that there were a lot of 'older generation' guests, mainly German and French and when the entertainment started at 9.30pm, most had retired!!
