Great hotel with comfortable rooms and helpful staff. Breakfast was very good with varied choice available. Hotel near to Medina.

Top Tip: The Medina was a short walk away and Boulevard Corniche with its beach and restaurants was a taxi ride away.

Our friend, who was staying at the hotel has a problem with his lower back and afer a walk, decided to have a massage in the health spa on the top floor. Unfortunately, after a shower, he slipped on a wet marble floor and cracked two vertebrae - in his middle back.
On the plus side, the staff were initially very helpful and arranged for a good doctor, however, on medical advice, our friend had to cut short his holiday. As soon as we tried to get confirmation from the hotel for insurances that he had not used all the accommodation we paid for, the staff became stroppy and uncooperative in the extreme. The local agent was little better. Because we are Christadelphians, we would not take anyone to Law and I appreciate that they did not know this, however the fear of litigation should not stop the hotel giving professional assistance

Top Tip: Don't have shower in the health spa!

On the plus side, the hotel was well-located for the Souks and is finished to a high standard. The rooms were cleaned to a high standard. The maintenance guy was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was OK, though not as good as our Marrakech hotel. Unfortunately, there is a big downside.
The reception staff were at best aloof and at worst downright rude, so much so that our Moroccan friends took issue with them and they eventually apologised to my wife, who they had completely snubbed.
The aircon did not work properly - hence the maintenance guy.
The food was exceptionally expensive and not very good. The breakfast cost 120 Dirhams (£10). The dinner cost about 200 Dirhams (about £16) for a buffet with very little choice.
The staff who were not rude, were all-out for tips the whole time, making it rather annoying.

Top Tip: The mosque is worth a visit, although it was surrounded by fog when we went. We took a taxi out to the "Corniche" beach, which was a big disappointment. The sand was full of rubbish, like bottle-tops etc, there are no facilities and someone tried to charge us about £8 for the privilege of sitting on some dirty chairs under a rusty umbrella.
The nearby Souk was good for bargain shopping, both the Moroccan souvenirs and the designer knock-offs.
Altogether though, it was not a patch on Marrakech and if we had not gone there to meet up with Moroccan friends, we would have given it a miss. Casablanca is a business city, not a tourist one.
We found a good restaurant called La Grotte, just a few doors from the hotel. It serves mainly pastas and pizzas. However, on our second visit, the waiter demanded we paid a 15% "service" charge, even though the service was nothing exceptional.
There was another restaurant round the corner called Cozzinis, which is more of a fast food place, doing toasted sandwiches, pizza and pasta. Not as good as La Grotte, but not pushy either.
We did a couple of other places, I think was called Mari, where the seafood was really frech and good. This is definitely one of the positive things to go for.
