Riad Dar Ouali

“ Very basic clean accomodation. We had nice room but no where at all for clothes not even shelf so had to leave them in the case or drape over little chair. Shower needed securing better, sink leaked and tap dripped. No tea/coffee facilites or anywhere to make drink. Breakfast typical Moroccan bread and jam/solid pancake daily. No seats on roof terrace so not a sunbathing place. There are 2 lounge areas to sit in but you have to make your own entertainment, you can take your own drink if you can find somewhere to buy any, we ended up with just bottled water. The location of this Riad is past the bottom of the souks and in a rather quiet area which felt a bit scary and isolated we were very obviously followed one night by a young chap who whistled and two other boys arrived just at the turning to our Riad they stood at the top and watched us open the door, there was no reason for them to be in this lane as there was only a couple of houses there, also to get anywhere you have to walk through the souks everyday and the constant 'calls to buy' became a bit wearing. The people who manage the Riad are very pleasant and helpful if you ask but not forthcoming as I said we were never offered a drink and were often in the Riad on our own especially overnight, not a problem for us but maybe for some.

“ Top Tip: The souk is quite close, as is the museum however nothing at all to do at night and after two scary experiences walking back to Riad at night we just stayed in and read. Girls alone do not book this particular Riad unless you are in a very large group. Loved the souks but be firm you will be hassled to buy but take it in fun I did not see any aggression in the souks only loud bartering which can sound heated but is harmless.
