Kasbah Dar Ilham

“ The Kasbah is very clean and well maintained with all rooms being spacious with a veranda overlooking the pool, which was bigger than expected. Their is food available at the hotel, served outside, which is excellent although there is no choice ie the meal of the day is the meal available. I quite liked this as it meant that everything was prepared fresh, and I like the surprise (and I like most things anyway!).

The service is excellent in all manner of ways and the staff courteous and friendly. French is the preferred language but all understand English and speak it well.

The only problem that we found with the holiday was the hotel location; it is around 30 minutes drive from Marrakech which makes it more difficult to see more of the town ie it is a planned visit rather than just walking out of the hotel and mooching around as the mood takes you. There is nothing close to the hotel apart from scrubland.

The hotel does provide transport into town leaving at 11.00 and returning at 18.00, which is chargeable. A return journey by cab is 28 euros if you return after 20.00.

So in summary, great hotel very relaxing and easy to just soak up the rays surrounded by good food and service. However if you want to really get under the skin of Marrakech then find somewhere nearer the centre.

“ Top Tip: Don't be talked into going to a pharmacy as they give you a 20 minute talk on the different uses of Aragon oil! Haggle like crazy in the Souk and stick to your guns - its magical.
