The Riad was comfortable, clean and ideally positioned for exploring Marrakech.
The staff were very helpful and the service was Good.
My only criticism was that the bedroom was very dark in decor and the lighting was not adequate,so it was difficult to read brochures and other reading material, and the room could be quite oppressive if you stayed in there too long. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay .

Top Tip:
Arrange for a guide to take you around the city for the first time. It does save you alot of time trying to get your bearings in the labyrinth and maze that is marrakech. We booked this through the Riad and the guide was very good.
Be brave and try the food in the main square. It is freshley cooked and extremely good value for money. We found stand NO1 to be excellent.

I'm writing this with great sadness... I only got back last night.. and i'm at work today.. i've spent most of my day looking on the internet at photo's etc.. of Marrakech... Where to start... at the begining I suppose...
when I booked with Travel republic I booked Flight/taxi and Riad..
Flight..
The flight was fine.. after all a flights a flight!!! no problems there :o)
Taxi...
When we got off the plane..we walked straight out, and standing there was a guy with my name on a board.. no messing about trying to get a Taxi, haggling the price.. straight in and away... any one who's been to marrakech knows that the taxi drivers don't know where they are going half the time... but with the pre booked car... the driver drove us as close to Riad Zayane as he could and then waked us the rest of the way down the little lanes... (it was really wort paying that bit extra.. and the same on our return trip.. ( I would really recommend pre booking)
The Riad...
Best to start with the staff... They were all really helpfull.. being a small Riad with 5 rooms (5 couples - 10 people at the most) you got to know the staff really well (4 in all), they were really helpfull and I know you shouldn't say it but especially Joad (hope thats spelt right) the evening - night guy...
He made a couple of calls for us, including confirming the taxi back... answered any questions about restaurants etc.. that we had...
On the whole the staff had time for you nothing seemed to much...
The Riad it's self.. (we stayed 4 nights - Thurs- Sunday nights)
well it was exactly like any pictures you find on line..
they say it all.. spotlessly clean... no worries about this at all...
Apart from the breakfeast.. We only ate in one night, the Beef Tajine was amazing, it was one of the best meals we had during our stay.. Beef with Prunes and seasame seeds...
it was really good... it was a lot better than the Lamb Tajine at Dar Moha.. (see best restaurants in Marrakech web site)
I'm not a breakfast person but each morning we got fresh orange juice.. a small bowl of yought... and a bowl of fruit or orange jelly stuff!!! all very nice...
and then cooked bread things (sorry not sure how to explain them)
but the pancakes were my favorite with honey and a bit of butter on them...
what I will add is apart from the mint tea.. a cup of english in the mornings was fine .. milk tatsed alright if you know what I mean...
so my hotel... really good would highly recomend it..
after speaking to the wife today.. we are going to see when we can fit another weekend in... and we will probably be going back to the Zayane...
If your thinking of booking... do it Marrakech is amazing.. we don't know why we never went sooner!!!!!
“
Top Tip:
Just walk and enjoy it.. my mobile came in handy with google maps.. as we ended up getting lost in the Souks when we were shopping!!!!
but its all fun...
and a must see is the Jardin Majorelle...
http://www.jardinmajorelle.com/en/index.php?page=home
but you know what.. its all really good.. one other thing.. read your guide books not all the restaurants serve beer and wine...
Casablanca beer is really good..
and the rose wine was good as well... both Morrocon
enjoy... :o)

“ Staying in this Riad is the ultimate Morrocan experience. The service was impeccable and the staff extremely helpful and kind. The only thing I would be wary of when you book is that the location is less than salubrious!. You are in the heart of the Medina (old town) and close to the Bus Station which a couple of taxi drivers told us what not a safe area. Despite this slight trepidation on going out in the evenings, the Moroccan people are generally quite friendly.
“ Top Tip: La Maison Arabe is a super bar and gorgeous restaurant.

“Fabulous riad in heart of medina!”
Stayed at riad zayane for 4 nights in September 2011. Everything about the Riad was above all expectations. The staff could not do enough to make us feel welcome or help us with recommendations about restaurants or places to visit! After a long day sightseeing in the heat the Riad provided a calm, peacefull setting to relax with a nice pot of mint tea!
