The charming riad is a haven of peace and relaxation, tastefully decorated with many traditional Moroccan features. It offers a patio full of plants, a winter conservatory and 2 summer rooms, and 2 terraces with fabulous views over the snow-capped Atlas Mountains and the roof-tops of the 'Red City', Pearl of the South. A dedicated team of staff will attend to guests' wishes regarding their comfort, meals and general enquiries. Guests are welcomed into the 6-room historical hotel in a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out services, a hotel safe and currency exchange facilities. Fully air-conditioned, the city hotel also offers a TV lounge, restaurant, Internet access, room and laundry services, and guarded parking (fees apply).This riad is situated in the heart of the Marrakech Medina right next to the Bab Doukkaka Mosque and 10 minutes' walk from the exotic Jemma El Fna Square and from a number of shops and nightlife options. The tourist centre of Gueliz, with its many bars and restaurants, is approximately 15 minutes away on foot, as are Koutoubia and Majorelle Gardens. The main train station is a 10-minute drive and the Oukeimeden ski area is around an hour and a half by car. Marrakech-Menara Airport is approximately 8 km from the riad.The guest rooms have a queen-size feather bed with embroidered cotton percale linen that can be adapted according to the season, and a dressing room equipped with individual safe. The en suite bathroom is decorated in ochre tadlakt tiles and equipped with a bathtub, shower, WC, hairdryer and 'Les Sens de Marrakech' soaps. Embroidered dressing gowns and sheets are provided. The rooms are 30 me in size and other in-room amenities include Internet access, a cooker, tea and coffee making facilities, and individually regulated air conditioning and heating.The riad offers cooking lessons, spa treatments and massages. Sun loungers and parasols are laid out for use around the swimming pool.People from muslim countries/religion need a marriage certificate to share a double room. The help desk is available 24 hours a day.

What a wonderful retreat!
From the moment we arrived, our hosts at Riad Altair were nothing but welcoming and friendly. The riad is gorgeous clean and easy to find, with 5 beautiful rooms. The service very personable and great freshly cooked seasonal breakfast and an equally tantalising menu.
In the heart of the Medina/old town, the riad is Only 10 min walk to the main square and souks and within easy access to marjorelle gardens and Gueliz, the new town. awesome roof terrace with loungers and tables, perfect for sun-soaking and calming after a day in the souks.
Can't recommend this place highly enough!

“ Riad Altair was everything we wanted it was clean and comfortable. The staff couldn't do enough for us and the food in the Riad was delicious. I would definitely recommend this Riad for a relaxing break.
“ Top Tip: I feel the food in Riad Altair was the best but Maison Arab just around the corner was also very good and they have a fab hammam.

the riad was a lovely calm place to relax away from all the hustle and bustle.
we ate at the riad one of the nights and the food was good.
the staff were all very friendly, helpful and courteous.
i would stay there again.
“ Top Tip: we enjoyed an evening in the marrechi restaurant in the main square. it had live music and belly dancers, but not loud or overbearing. the food for a tourist restaurant was quite good. it also served alcohol!

The riad that we stayed in was 5 star, we were made very welcome and it was an escape from the madness that was Marrakech, not all the holiday was mad, lol, however 7 days was to long. A lot of the people were very friendly and happy to help and tell you about their history.
Marrakech is not for the faint hearted and can be very full on but with a little exploring you can find little parts that you can escape to. One major down side is the polution the fumes from the traffic in and around the soaks can be over powering.
“ Top Tip: Take a mask if you are going into the soaks, if you had a guide it would help, however half the fun is finding your way out lol
