They say that you get what you pay for - therefore, in this case the Amsaffah excelled. We had a a fantastic stay there for a great bargain. The only moment of constellation was when we couldn't get cold water in our room - due to the sun and 45 degree heat in Marrakech that week (we were very pleased indeed for the little pool at that point!). The room was large and kept clean throughout the week. All the staff were friendly and extremely helpful, especially with maps, meals and advice about locals. I think we were 1 of only 3 couples staying there at one point and so obviously a quiet time, but felt very special in our courtyard room.

Top Tip: Listen to the lady's advice in the hotel and get a transfer bus to/ from the airport. The big posh restaurants e.g. Marrakchi are over-priced and extremely disappointing. There is a small (panoramic terrace) cafe on a small street just off Place des Ferbantiers leading to The Badi Palace that does a fantastic 4 course Moroccan lunch for 80dirham and they don't mind if you take 2 hours. Can't remember the name but there is a board in the shape of a man wearing a fez pointing up from the pavement.

If you want to have a Moroccan experience this is the Riad to stay. The staff are lovely and cannot do enough to make sure your stay is excellent. This Riad is in the heart of the medina about 10-15 min walk to the main square. Here you are living amongst locals and not tourists.

Overall it was a very relaxing Riad to stay in and would go back in a shot.

Top Tip: We suggest that when walking around the streets to the Riad that woman cover up a bit with a shawl or scarf until you get to the busy parts where they are used to tourists. Otherwise you will be bombarded with cat calls from men along the way. If you need a good restaurant close by highly recommend Cafe Arabe which is on the way to the square from the Riad.

This Riad was lovely, from outside did not look inviting but once front door opened it was like entering Ali Babas cave, 100% traditional and I loved it. Make sure you get a guide book which has a map of the medina area and ask reception to mark the accommodation on it. Everyone gets lost but you do get there in the end. I would definitely recommend this Riad and would stay here again. About 15 min walk to the square.

A beautiful magic Riad, tucked right into the world of souqs and winding streets of delights!

The Riad itself looked very unimposing, a small door opening up to a Moroccan Narnia. A huge space inside filled with Moroccan delights. The court yard area was the perfect place to enjoy the breakfast. The staff were polite and friendly, and very keen to give advice... very valuable advice.

The Riad itself is a 10 minute walk to the Main square, giving you perfect access to the Souqs and delights of Moroccan entertainment.

When I return to Marrakech, I will be sure to book this delightful traditional riad.

(The only down side I can think of is we didn't have warm water in the shower, however with the temperatures in Marrakech it wasn't too unpleasant)

This is one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. The lobby, bar and restaurant are lovely but the real winning feature is the garden and pool area. It is stunning. Guests can lounge near the pool all day on sun loungers (I did this as it was warm even in January) with an endless supply of towels.

Moroccan House Hotel Marrakech is located in Marrakech's Hivernage neighborhood, close to Grand Poste Gueliz, Djemaa el Fna, and Palais des Congres. Nearby points of interest also include Majorelle Garden and Koutoubia Minaret. Dining options at Moroccan House Hotel Marrakech include 3 restaurants. Room service is available during limited hours. The hotel serves a complimentary breakfast. Recreational amenities include an outdoor pool and a steam room. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in public areas.

I really can't fault this hotel on value for money and politeness of staff. The room I was in though was very cold due to the airconditioner/heater not working properly, however there was a lot of hot water so I just had deep baths to warm up. All in all I would stay there again.

Riad Alhambra

Riad Alhambra

Marrakech

 4 Star Hotel

Customer rating from 13 reviews: 9.7 Exceptional

Riad Dar Alhambra is a unique Moroccan guest house ideally suited for families or friends wishing to have the house to themselves! Nestled in the heart of Marrakech in the old medina, next door to the Medersa Ben Youssef and the Marrakesh museum, three minutes from the souks and eight minutes walk from the Jemaa El Fnaa square, the Riad Alhambra is in a great location. Dating from the 16th century the Riad Alhambra has been lovingly and discreetly restored in pure Moroccan tradition. Life revolves around the cool, marble floored patio with an antique fountain in its centre and next to the patio are two delightful 'B'hou' (small, open sitting-rooms), and the traditional, sumptuously decorated Moroccan drawing-room. The rooftop terrace offers splendid views of the Koutoubia, the high Atlas Mountains, and superb sunsets - great for privileged dining and sun bathing! This could be a holiday to remember - book into the Riad Alhambra now.

If you are staying in Marrakech then a Riad is really what you should stay in; they are all converted from old houses built round a central courtyard and are in the medina or old town and if you are staying in a riad then I don't believe you could find a more perfect one than the Alhambra.
