“
The quality and size of the rooms are variable, they are acceptable none are plush, there again we did not pay 5 star prices.
The staff were very helpful and friendly, nothing was to much trouble.
The food was good and simple Morocan which made you feel like you were in the country unlike many big and international hotel were you can be anywhere.
The biggest shock was the approach to the Riad down a narrow lane, but this is typical of most riads, once through the front door the true size and splendour is revealed.
The location is good for visiting many of the attractions/sights which are nearby, unlike riads/hotels in the new town which are a bus journey away.
“
Top Tip:
Top tip be prepared for a small culture shock, to be hassled and hassled by everyone, just stand your ground by being firm positive and polite.
The first best price for sometime is usually not the final price.
If you want european style food go to the new town, real local food go to the old town, but choose carefully, ask others and use your eyes who is eating there.

“ We were very satisfied with this Morocan run Riad. Staff were helpful and were happy to organise car hire/ taxis etc - it probably helped that we can speak French. Riad is in the Medina but a little outside the main tourist areas - which meant it was quiet. Food good and a nice roof terrace.

“ A very beautiful riad with amaxing decor in reception rooms and lovely courtyards etc. Friendly and helpful staff. The twin room we had was very small with little space for suitcases or hanging space. There was only one small mirror in the bathroom but none in the bedroom and we had to ask for soap as there were no toiletries provided whatsoever.
“ Top Tip: We were recommended a restaurant nearby by a member of riad staff and were misled on the price ,which turned out to be very expensive by Moroccan standards. it was very beautiful and the waiters amusing ( a bit too much actually )but the Tagine was the worst we`d had all holiday.

“ The staff were very helpful and curteous. The room that we had was spartan, lacking space (approx 8ft square) and had just one very small cupboard, one shelf and a single rail. The hotel does have some vastly superior rooms, but I don't know how you would book them as ours was described as a 'double superior'. breakfast was basic but sufficient. We enjoyed the roof terrace. The hotel probably reflected the city as a whole...Marrakech is a wonderfully diverse place waiting for you to explore - as long as you know what you are letting yourself into, the smells go from open sewer to exotic spices, the weather went from thunderstorms to blissfully sunny days and the food from basic to sublime. We enjoyed our time in the old city - but beware....they have built a new city beyond the walls of the old one and it is riddled with all things western like concrete, perfectly symetric buildings and .......worst of all......McDonalds, Kentucky and Pizza Hut (is nowhere sacred?). The souks provide many many hours of interest and they don't look the same if you walk down the same one twice. There are many forms of transport available, taxis, buses, horse drawn carriages and death defying mopeds,we walked a lot and thoroughly enjoyed it.
“ Top Tip: The Dar-Es-Salaam restaurant was a great night out...I had to belly dance too!

“
A welcoming Riad positioned perfectly in the heart of the Medina. Staff excellent and Jamal recommended two superb restaurants (although pricey!) as well as good silver shop. Water always hot, rooms small. Breakfast was lovely and got quite addicted to the mint tea... although they had a bizzare method of pouring it which we will be practising at home.
We were unfortunate with the weather (very cold with an almost constant drizzle of rain) but didn't stop us from enjoying the whole Marrakech experience! Well worth a visit.
“
Top Tip:
Always check weather forecasts before you go and then pack appropiately.
Eat from the outside little food bars. Food was inexpensive and excellent with no consquences. Try out the restaurant recommended by Jamal, excellent food and good entertainment. Majorelle gardens (think that's what they are called) are beautiful.. another tip.. remember your camera!
