1.I found the hotel staff feindly and helpful and they spoke good english.
2.Breakfast very basic
3.I had a single room with balcony at front of hotel, it was noisey when the windows were open but i wanted this so i could see all the hustle.
4.Bathroom was ok, could have been better, hot water allday.
5.Location of hotel is not very close to djama el efna, its a long walk to djama about 15/20 mins and the roads getting their are unlit.(petit taxi to djama about 10dhms)
My main concern with this hotel is its location, the hotel and its staff are good for what you pay.

“ It's just like a travel inn/premier inn in UK. Very basic but cleaned well and staff are friendly and helpful. 5 min walk to Jardin Marjorelle and about 25 min walk to Soulks. Taxis are v. cheap though and staff are happy to help organise tours/sort cheap taxis. Having said that, you can get a much more luxurious hotel in the same area for an extra £50-£100 per week and if I went again, I'd 100% pay the extra for a decent pool etc as despite other reviews, there isn't that much to do in Marrakech.
“ Top Tip: Supermarket under hotel extremely handy. Taxis and bus station also right outside.

“ Hotel staff were very helpful, rooms very basic but clean. Hotel buffet breakfast was ok but the juices were disgusting and the tea lukewarm every morning, however the pancakes were lovely. The location of the hotel however left a lot to be desired. If I l said it was in the ghetto I would not be underestimating. If you could move the hotel 200 yards or so up the road towards the plaza it would be great. From the restaurant you were able to watch prostitutes selling themselves to car drivers - not what you want at meal times
“ Top Tip: The taxis outside the hotel that would take you wherever you wanted, once you had negotiated a price of course

“ The room was leaking and there was rot and damp on the walls. The air-conditioning was faulty and staff were not bothered about getting it fixed. Staff were very inconsiderate and took a very 'relaxed' approach. The rooms wernt well cleaned either.
“ Top Tip: Go to the 5* near a side street along Mohammed V for decent food!

“ I really can't fault this hotel on value for money and politeness of staff. The room I was in though was very cold due to the airconditioner/heater not working properly, however there was a lot of hot water so I just had deep baths to warm up. All in all I would stay there again.

Customer rating from 26 reviews: 5.8 Average
Located in the very center of Marrakesh, on one of its most beautiful avenues, amalay is 10 minutes from the illustrious Jamaa El Fna square and its markets. Entirely air conditioned, it consists of 40 well equipped rooms, with bath, television, telephone and loggia. At the ground floor, you will have the pleasure of discovering a Moroccan sitting room, a bar as well as 2 restaurants where you will have the occasion to savour the delicacy of Moroccan and international specialties.
“ This hotel is in a very good position, close to the bus stops and handy for the train station but it doesnt feel too friendly. The breakfast is only a croissant and a cob, where some hotels have a buffet with lots of choice, if you ask for anything else, you get a disapproving look and its not available.
