The service in the hotel was excellent. The initial greeting was warm, and most of the staff were able to speak in french and english which was a great bonus. The interior of the hotel was almost breathtaking and the pool area was luxurious. the staff there could not do enough to help you. The domestic staff were unobtrusive but of a very high standard, and we could find no fault with the rooms or the service there.
The breakfast was first class catering for all tastes. They even had a full area for the health conscious guest. The choice of foods was wonderful with continental and English, and the staff could not have been more helpful.

Our Hotels (Sofitel in Marrakech as well as in Fez) did not live up to our expectations. The service was poor in both. The room facilities were very limited - just two English TV Channels - no tea kettle or complimentary tea/coffee, long wait for check in, dated and flaking decor in bedrooms, showers leave the whole bath room wet etc etc! Most staff could not understand or speak English. The breakfast spread was just okay but no more.
In FEZ Sofitel we were asked to pay extra for room with the view that we had sought and which we had thought would be allocated to us. At first we were asked to pay 150 Euros per night - then it was haggled down to 25 euros a night. This kind of fish market behaviour does not befit a hotel that claims to be five star.

“ This is one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. The lobby, bar and restaurant are lovely but the real winning feature is the garden and pool area. It is stunning. Guests can lounge near the pool all day on sun loungers (I did this as it was warm even in January) with an endless supply of towels.

“ The hotel was fine but not 5* the items that need addressing are 1) noise on late arrivals and not being ask to quite down. 2) phone not working properly'crackley 3) asking from room service menu and not understanding( cheese and ham samwich!) 4) AC very poor 5) no towels on arival 6) building noise on opersite building not all the time.
