Palais Salam Hotel

“ Beautiful old hotel with fabulous gardens & 2 pools. Rooms large, very clean, well furnished with comfortable beds. We got rooms with sunny balconies overlooking the pool, which was perfect in February. Plenty of seating & sun- loungers (with matresses & towels) around the pool. The heating worked, but the hot water was a bit dodgy this time- it hasn't been a problem during previous stays. Half board is excellent value as the evening meal is delicious and more than we could manage to finish. House wine is also excellent.
The staff are all very helpful and friendly and the location is convenient, near the centre of town & Souks.

“ Top Tip: Apart from visiting the Souks, there isn't much to do in Taroudannt, especially in the evening. We hired a car & took a (very long) day trip South to Tafraoute. But don't go via Igherm. Roads are quiet, very windy, but scenery is spectacular. Fill up with petrol as petrol stations are almost non-existent on the way. Give lifts to locals- they rarely speak English, but can be very helpful if your car gets stuck!

“ Excellent hotel in pretty well every respect. It's neither new or flash or posh . However Palais Salam is indeed "C'est Magnifique"as one French guest put it on entering the dining room. It has something of a faded splendour rather like the Continental in Tangier yet service and standards are not at all faded. It is warmly comfortable and it would be a great shame if some corporate horror merchants destroyed it and turned it into a "gin palace".

“ This hotel has seen better days, but was perfectly adequate for us. We wanted to visit the markets in Taroudant and stay in a Moroccan style hotel. The food was quite good and the staff helpful and pleasant.

“ Lovely peaceful hotel, staff friendly and helpfu - I have been there before and will go again.
