The hotel is located in a peaceful and quiet area in the western part of Amsterdam. The city centre is 15 minutes by car from the hotel and 15 minutes by public transportation (tramline 17). RAI Exhibition centre is only a 10 minutes drive from the hotel. Schiphol Airport is at 8 kilometres distance. Behind the renovated 1970's exterior of the Tulip Inn Amsterdam City West you will find a new and stylish hotel.
It's 162 spacious rooms with air-conditioning, PAY-TV and direct dial telephones offers both the business and leisure traveller a home away from home. Brasserie "Oudt Amsterdam" is open from 07.00 until 22.00 hours, guests are welcome to a breakfast, buffet lunch or an International dinner from the menu in the evenings. Hotel looks horrible from the outside, hence this is why when I booked it and looked at the photos they didnt have any of the outside.
Hotel is situated in what I would class as an undesirable area, youths hanging about outside every night we were there in the car parking area. I was approached by a man begging me for money when I was stood in hotel entrance.
There was supposed to be wi-fi and there wasn't, there was also supposed to be tea/coffee making facilities in the room, again there wasn't.
Room was quite small, showing signs of wear and tear but clean enough.
Staff were friendly enough breakfast was just about edible.

“ Cheap, safe and cheerful. Far from Centraal Station, but would recommend to those wishing to stay in Amsterdam but not want to be bothered by the youngsters party scene.
“ Top Tip: Delicious Turkish restaurant near hotel. not the expensive one with an 18 euro starter, the more "cafe" looking one. We ate like kings for 11 euros!

“ A pleasant hotel, though some way from the city centre (20 mins on a tram, 10 minute walk to tram stop). Rooms were pleasant and clean (a little better than Travelodge i'd say), though a touch cold (the weather was minus 5 outside) and the heating struggled to keep up. Very good breakfast, extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff very willing to help with all my dumb enquiries.
