“ Top Tip: SALT MINES ARE REALLY WORTH A VISIT.LOTS OF NICE BARS AND RESTURANTS IN OLD TOWN.

“ The hotel was very well situated overlooking the river and the castle and was about a 10 to 15 minute walk to the town square. We were in a standard room on the 5th floor (6th floor is executive suites) overlooking the river and castle. When the window was open there was a lot of noise from the road outside, especially the trams but when the window was closed very little noise and the rooms are air conditioned. The room was modern, very clean and spacious. Double bed, sofa, two dining type chairs, dressing/writing table with telephone, TV with English speaking news channels and Eurosport, mini bar, open wardrobe and free safe. The bathroom was well lit with shower over bath, hair-dryer and shaving point. Always plenty of hot water. The hotel has a Sauna, swimming pool, jacuzzi and small gym. We used the swimming pool and jacuzzi and they were immaculate. Towels are supplied in the changing rooms and there is no charge for the lockers. There is also a massage shower (not sure of the proper name for this) which was great. The restaurant and bar area was comfortable and there was also a small areafor children with books, bean bags and computer games (not sure if these had to be paid for) other small toys. There is also a computer area, two computers with access to the internet free of charge - 20 minute session. We had one evening meal in the restaurant which was very good although as you would expect pricer than eating outside as were the drinks. The breakfast was very good, excellent cold buffet and the usual hot food. Fried eggs and omelettes could be ordered fresh. The reception staff were all very helpful marking out routes on maps on how to get to different places. A complimentary pocket guide book was also left in the room. All the staff were friendly and we would certainly stay at this hotel again should we return to Krakow.

“ Top Tip: Have a good meal at the Restauracja MIESZCZANSKA, about 5 mins walk from hotel. Turn left out of hotel, left at the corner, under subway restaurant is downstairs in the building straight ahead (ING Bank is in the same building). Main meal with side dishes and drinks for 4 cost us 122 PLN. If you want an Italian close by then head for the restaurant turn right cross the road and you'll see it (sorry don't know name), again 2 pizzas and 2 pasta dishes + 1 dessert and drinks approx 120 PLN. Drinks in these restaurants half hotel prices.
