“ We only stayed one night but it was very adequate. The Manager was extremely helpful and laid back, so to speak. More than adequate and good value.

“ We had fantastic time! The rooms are basic, however clean & although the reception wasn't always open he was only a phone call away.... and YES always answered his phone. Nothing was not a problem. Would defo go back.

“ We were not too certain what to expect given some of the reviews but I am so glad we chose to stay at Oasis Beach. It was exactly what we were looking for and more. The apartment was lovely with a simple kitchen facility (fridge/freezer, 2 electric hobs, sink, cutlery, pots and pans etc.) and a nice bathroom with a very good and powerful shower. Twin beds were extremely comfortable and couch can be made into a sofa bed. There was plenty of storage space for clothes and belongings. The apartment was air-conditioned which meant we could keep the bugs out at night yet stay cool. We had a 'balcony' (although we were on the ground floor) with plastic table and chairs and we were able to hang our towels and swimwear out there to dry. Our apartment faced the sun in the morning and had shade in the evening which was lovely as we were able to cool down after afternoons in the sun by the pool. The pool was clean and very nice to cool down in after overheating in the sun. There were sun loungers with padding to relax on. There is a smaller, children's pool which we didn't use but I assume was fine. The pool area and sun loungers are positioned to receive the most amount of sun possible and the area remains sunny until about 8 pm.
Our towels were changed twice during the week which was useful but no one came in to clean. That was fine with us but if you expect daily room service this is not the place to come. So many places you go to have staff that are almost constantly harassing you by trying to 'make your experience better' when in actual fact you want them to disappear and let you get on with enjoying the holiday. Therefore it was a refreshing change to be left alone by the staff to do our own thing. Overall I would highly recommend anyone to stay here as long as you do not expect five star quality. If you want to stay somewhere which is quiet, has nice accommodation, a good pool area and is close to the beach and the centre of the town then this is most certainly the place to come.

“ Top Tip: Lagos is worth a visit. The number 4 bus goes from the centre of Luz (by the church) to Lagos and is 1.80€ single per person.
Lazuli bar (very close to the hotel and overlooking the beach) has a late night 11pm-1am happy hour offer on litre jugs of Sangria.
Visit restaurant O Malhao on the old road between Luz and Burgau. Friendly staff, great food, massive portions and very reasonably priced (closed Mondays). Also worth a visit is Casablanca restaurant. Cozinha da Luz is a takeaway near the Baptista supermarket. It has the best chicken piri-piri in Luz and is very good value.
Also make sure to try a 'pastel da nata', which you can get from the bakery sections of the supermarkets. They are the most delicious custard tarts in the entire world.
