“ My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay hotel was for the main part superbly maintained although our room was a little tired although it was spotless. When we arrived around midnight we and our luggage were brought to our room on a golf cart and there was a salad and bottles of water awaiting us which was a nice touch. Staff throughout our stay were exceptionally good and helped with requests for information etc with a smile. Maid service was also very good, food for the main part was good and we found something most nights and there was plenty of it - only criticisms would be that children were not catered for as well as adults and it was all self-service no waiter / waitress.

The highlight for my 5 yo son was the miniclub which was ran by 2 excellent animators Noelia and Jessica who made his stay and doubtless that of other children very memorable and gave the adults some freetime to enjoy the hot tub and the heated pool.

The beach is a descent down 91 wooden steps on a very sturdy staircase which we managed no problem but may not be for all. Vilamoura is around 1 hour walk along the beach if you feel the need to burn some calories or you could use the gym which I didn't. The grounds / gardens of the complex are also worth a leisurely stroll. The hotel was around half full during easter week and the weather was not too hot (20C) so no issues with sun loungers or bar access.

The bar itself has a limited choice of drinks with only 4 cocktails available and although I do not drink much I can honestly say that neither the cocktails or sangria had much effect on me so draw your own conclusions!

I would recommend this as a family resort and I would consider going back to it as somewhere nice and relaxing well away from the built up resorts.

“ Top Tip: The free return bus service to Albufeira is excellent. If you are looking for a quiet room the cheaper rooms in block AA / AB are around 5 minutes walk from the main complex. If you like tea bring your own teabags as those in the hotel are not great.

“ The hotel was great for a relaxing holiday in the sun. The Hotel and Bedrooms were spotlessly clean, We stayed in the AA/AB Apartments which after reading some reviews I was a little worried, however nothing to worry about at all - its about a 3 min walk (if that) back to reception and the rooms were basic but a good size and had everything you need (Beds, Large Clean Bathroom with bath and shower, Wardrobe, TV and a fridge). The Food on All Inclusive was brilliant with a different choice of meat, fish every mealtime. (However if you are a bad eater you may fine yourself on the same salads, chips, breads, fruit etc) - But still always a good choice and something for everyone!! Staff very polite and friendly never made you feel like you were asking for too much. Drinks available until 11pm on the All Inclusive which was the entertainment etc finished so we didn't have a problem. The beds were a little on the hard side but nothing you couldn't cope with!! The only thing I would say is if like me you like a morning brew without having to go down to the restuarant then you will need to pack a travel kettle for your room!!!

“ Top Tip: A trip to Villamoura Marina (20 euros) in a taxi each way is highly recommended as the Marina is beautiful and full of things to do in the evening for a break away from the hotel. The Mayflower Restuarant on the Marina in particular was amazing!!
