The Estrela do Vau Apartments are superbly situated next to the golf course, ‘Alto Golf’ at Vau, close to Praia do Alemao beach, and 2 km from the centre of Praia da Rocha. Peacefully positioned in its own gardens, this modern complex provides guests with 2 swimming pools, sun terraces, a restaurant and bar with a snooker table, a poolside snack bar and a lounge area. Plus Kids Club and Entertainment team during summer, mini golf and beauty centre. Each guest room features a kitchenette, air conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, hairdryer, safety box and a balcony.

Great find !!
Rented a studio and was very surprised how spacious it was. Recently refurbished, it had everything. New beds including the sofa bed. Full sized kitchen with new fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle, microwave, coffee machine. Lots of utensils. Large bathroom with decent toiletries provided and towels changed every other day. Bedding changed twice a week. The complex was very quiet being out of season but all facilities up and running. One of the outdoor pools has just been refurbished with new tiling and lighting and is awaiting filling with water. Friendly staff. Stated all over the Algarve and this has to be one of the cleanest and most spacious studios I have stayed in. It would easily suit 3 people sharing. I am not certain that all the apartments have been refurbished - I stayed in 144.
“ Top Tip: Beach at Praia do Vau is excellent and much less crowded than the nearby Praia da Rocha. Carleetos restaurant very good. Tres Irmaos Beach at Alvor is also perfect too. The restaurant O Luis has wonderful fish and not overly priced.

Top Tip:
If there are four people or more it is cheaper to take a taxi than pay the collective bus fares.
Italian restaurant - Bulli and Pupe - in Praia da Rocha is reasonably priced and lovely food with friendly service.

This was a great relaxing holiday. We went as a family of 5 to get away from things and chill for a week. The food was great a bit repetitive but very nice and excellent service from the waiters and waitresses. It isn't really close to any other bars, but with taxi's costing in the region of 4-6 euros per trip it doesn't matter.
I would recommend for an older couple or family looking for a quiet relaxing holiday. If your young and want to see a bit of night life, i would look else where.
“ Top Tip: There is a small beach 10-15 mins walk away, it is perfect and we spent a couple of days with the kids on the beach and in the sea. Watch the waves though as the current is a little deceiving on the waves.
