“ Stayed for 8 nights in April and really enjoyed our stay. Could not fault the complex in any way. This is better than any 3 star accommodation we have ever stayed in and we holiday at least twice a year. The staff were more than helpful and extremely friendly. The whole place was clean and tidy. Maid service every day including clean towels. Plenty of loo roll. Biggest apartments we have seen. Full floor standing cooker, proper electric kettle and toaster, a microwave and 4 of everything in the cupboards. Bar and pool bar prices were very cheap, maybe a few cents more than the cheapest bars down the strip but you would have to be sad to complain about 50 cents. Anyone leaving a negative review needs their head examined.
There is a gentle hill up to the apartments but the whole of Albufiera is all hills anyway. It isn't as bad as some of the reviews make out though. I'm 51 and fat and lazy but I had no problems with it. The footpaths around Albufiera are all cobbles though and can be a bit hard on the ankles if you walk a lot. We walked to both the strip and the old town at least once and back every day. We loved our stay and would definately return to the Janelas Do Mar

“ Top Tip: The strip is an easy 10 mins once you find the short cut and the old town is just 20 mins but if you are lazy you can jump on the bus that stops every 15 mins literally outside the front door and takes a route all over Albufiera. You can get on and off anywhere for less than a couple of euros. There is a couple of trains that run all day round and round the resort for a couple of euros too and I have seen them still running after midnight too. A taxi will take you practically anywhere for less than 5 euros.
Milly O'Naires bar is just accross the road from the appartments and is great to have a nightcap in. Also does a good full english breakfast for 3 euros 50 cents.
Jimmy's supermarket just up from old town still has tobacco at old price before budget.
Pingo Doce supermarket is less than 10 minute walk but if it's only bare essentials like milk, teabags, bread etc the minimarket on site is only pennies more, and has a bakery on site too.
The on site gift shop is as cheap as any.

“ For the first time in a while the accomodation was very spacious you were not stepping over one another. and had adequate utensils and crockery, the only downfall it had that there was no trays in oven for shelves so you could not use that but overall everything else was god and i would go back.

The snack bar openening times could have stayed open a bit later as when you had been out all day sometimes you wanted to just to jump downstairs for food but you couldnt as it closed at 5 o'clock.

Would be good for reception to have some local information on where places are as on your first couple of days you are trying to find where you are heading and as no english signs to help you along the way.

“ Top Tip: WE found a pub/restuarant that does nice food which is called the English Kitchen which is sistuated near the Montechoro Hotel.
