Baia Cristal Hotel

“ Our third visit to The Cristal. Stunning location on cliff top with lovely views. About 20 minute walk to town centre. Stayed B&B good Breakfast choices. Dinner was 20 Euros each so didn't bother with that, as plent of nice restaurants close by.
We had booked a triple sea view room, but the hotel had upgraded us to a suite (room 201) for no extra cost! Great long, sunny balcony with sun loungers and uninterrupted sea views.
Plenty of loungers by the pool as hotel not full. Pool itself freezing! Mixed weather while we were there, a couple of warm sunny days, but a few cold, cloudy and drizzly days too.
The hotel is aimed at older holidaymakers, nothing really for children, we were about the only party under retirement age, but this meant it was quiet and relaxing.
Will be returning to The Cristal again but probably later in the year for hopefully better weather.

“ Top Tip: The Mona Lisa restaurant round the corner from the hotel does lovely Italian food and has a cosy atmosphere. Also Cafe Fino towards the town has fresh smoothies, cakes, snacks and coffee at reasonable prices.

“ Really enjoyed our stay.The hotel was in a stunning location on a cliff top with a lovely little beach close by.The hotel was spotless. Our room was super with a sea and garden view. We stayed bed and breakfast. At breakfast there was a good choice of hot and cold food and we ate well. The hotel is a bit out of town though the hotel does offer a limited shuttle bus service if required. However there are a selection of very good restaurants close by and we never thought that the walk into town was that bad! Staff in the hotel very helpful. It was my birthday when I stayed at the hotel though it was never made public. However, when I returned from a visit to town there was an ice bucket with a complimentary bottle of fizz from the staff and management of the hotel waiting for me in our room. A very nice gesture I thought which says a lot about how welcoming this hotel is :-)

“ Top Tip: Stop Restaurant right on the beach 300 m from the hotel. Stunning location and delicious fish. Mona Lisa Italian Restaurant which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Very welcoming and yummy pizza. We were travelling with our 7 year old who is a pizza expert and he said that the the pizzas here were some of the most delicious that he had ever tasted! Praise indeed!

“ Staff helpful and pleasant, spoke good English.accomodation clean and plenty of space,we really liked sea facing balcony upstairs and ground floor level. We had bed and breakfast,which was excellent,hot and cold choice in pleasant sea facing dining room.

Access to cliff top walk from the Hotel and beach a 5 minute walk from hotel,made for a very good holiday .

“ Top Tip: Walk to beach early evening ( we had a paddle !) then enjoy a wine,beer or soft drink at beach cafe.

“ Nice hotel with nice staff. More 3* than 4 though and many rooms can only be accessed by walking outdoors, so if its raining you get wet.

You really need a car, or be happy using taxis at 6-7 euros a time to stay here because it is a good walk to get to the beach or village. The hotel does provide a shuttle bus to the village, but this is limited to fixed times.

“ Top Tip: Countless restaurants to choose from but for the best chicken piri piri go to El Fonte in the village.
