The Pestana Palm Gardens has a superb cliff top location, in Carvoeiro. The resort is set in 5 acres of palm tree filled gardens and offers 3 golf courses nearby at preferred rates to guests. Leisure facilities include 2 outdoor swimming pools, 1 heated in winter, a small gym with cardio machines, sauna, beauty and massage and a tennis court. The 78 townhouses are well equipped with air conditioning, television, telephone, full kitchen with fridge freezer and washing machine, satellite TV and safe (weekly charge).

“ Great two bed town house in a lovely setting with everything that you need for self catering. The pool area and bar are very nice and we had a meal in the restaurant on site and it was beautiful. The walk into town is about 10mins down the road which has pavements and one faitly steep hill. Loads of places to eat around . Beach is a 5min walk with good waves and a beach bar and lifeguard but quite narrow when the tides in. Only downside was the outside space in the townhouse we had G11 there was no BBQ and the not a great view but a would still recommend the Pastana Palm Gardens.

Top Tip:
Sardines in Lagos square were great and the Praias Marinha Beach was worth the steps down (bar at the bottom) great beach.
Intermarche hypermarket is 10 min drive to Lagoa and has everything! Mussels, live crab and frozen crustatia!!

“ Staff very helpful and friendly. Pool area quite small with limited sunbed availability, additional sunbeds could have been put on grassed area next to pool. Room very clean and comfortable. Would recommend for a quiet, relaxing holiday.

“ The villa was fantastic, very well appointed with everything you need for self catering. The villas are cleaned daily ( except Sunday) and are of a very high standard. The staff at reception are very helpful, nothing too much trouble and the bar/restaurant staff were exceptional. Overall a great place to visit, we would certainly return on our next visit to the Algarve. Our children are 15,13 and 9 so the hotel is very good for families.
“ Top Tip: There are some good restaurants in Carvoerio, approx 15 mins walk but if you want a closer restaurant go to The Mona Lisa ( approx 5 mins) if you turn right out of the complex.
