Monaco Hotel

“ Hotel is at least 20 mins by local bus to either town or beach (oposite directions). I waited at the airport for an hour having arranged the shuttle, but it was always 'two more minutes'. On arriving at the hotel the wifi didn't work, the bulbs in the bathroom had blown, the AC was not working and the shuttle back to the airport in the morning was not running as 7am was too early. It was also too early for the resturant to be open so I asked for a packed breakfast with no meat. They made me a ham sandwich. Staff were nice though.

“ Very very nice indeed! No faults at all. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Décor modern and attractive. Garden/pool was unusual and relaxing setting.

Location very good and more preferable to a central hotel, in retrospect. Courtesy bus from hotel, but at set times ( but additional bookings can be made where possible). Otherwise, close to bus stops for Faro centre, and for the beach, or taxi about 6 euros.

The area around the hotel, and in particular the street sound the corner, was beautiful, with spectacular houses. Also close to local restarants and additional shopping area.

Not somewhere to go if you want wild nights out clubbing it, but for those wanting a more relaxed trip and a base to explore the surrounding areas, and for business trips, golfers, and single travellers it is ideal,

“ Top Tip: The boat trip from Faro exploring the wildlife was well worth it! Not only did the guide provide lots of interesting information, but you you also get to stop off at a desert island, and can choose a later boat time to return on. Absolutely
gorgeous , especially in the quieter off peak
times. Not a soul around, nothing but lying on
the sand, listening to the waves ....... aaah bliss!
Also worth a visit is the Church of Our Lady of Carmen - with it's separate chapel built from the bones of monks. A sight to see! It's difficult to find where it is though, so try to check that out early on, or in advance...... worth noting that the Tourist Information office isn't open at the weekend.
The self service restaurant round the corner from the hotel is very nice, with lots of choice.
