Vila Gaivota Hotel

“ We have stayed at Vila Gaivota several times before as we like the area. The staff are friendly and by now we know some of them quite well

“ The apartment was very threadbare sofa bed kept breaking!! Found the management unfriendly but the staff were. we had to go to another complex for 4 days as they had a problem. think they were just overbooked. in the 10 days we stayed the bed sheets were not changed once, towels maybe 3 times and we had to keep asking for toilet roll and then just given 1. 4 of us in the apt and only given 2 large towels and 2 small. Apart from this the view was stunning and the 2 beaches close by were beautiful. definately need a car to get about as nothing close by. Childrens pool was disgusting and empty on our last day. Pool area needed to be cleaned on a daily basis including the pool itself.

“ Top Tip: Beaches close by gorgeous and had a beach party which was cheap to get into but drinks prices where extortinate!!

“ Great value for a family holiday, spacious clean apartments and large terrace. There are a number of golden sandy beaches within a short walking distance -we found it easier following the trails to the beaches through the shrubland than the main road as it was more direct. Staff were very friendly and the cleaner was in most days for towels etc although the apartment was well equiped for self catering cooker/hob/microwave/washing machine/fridge freezer. We would more than likely return but hire a car next time as it is a few kilometres from the main village which is small but picturesque, there is a mini market on site which sells basics such as fresh bread,milk,eggs etc but the main supermarket was some distance hence a car. The apartment kitchen whilst being well equipped did look a litlle tired and probably needs upgrading but not in such a state to warrant as a complaint- it was ok. Its roughly 6 euro in a cab to ferragudo village where there are some nice fish restaurants and a small square or it is approximately 35 mins walk, there are a few beach bars and a local restaurant within 5/10 mins though which were very nice.

“ Top Tip: Be prepared with mosquito repellent and bite cream - there is a lot of greenery in the immediate area home to wildlife and mosquitos and the first few days we were caught out as the mozzies had a feast. The chill out bars on praia grande beach are fab but all the beaches in the immediate area are nice.

Very large rooms, could do with a little more equipment in the kitchen.

Local Curry house / pizza house very good (piano Garden) very friendly.....
