“ The accommodation is generous in size and fittings. An excellent swimming pool and reasonably close to beaches and restaurants.

“ The accomodation at Jardim da Meia Praia is very well laid out, spacious, clean, homely and comfortable. Although there are a lot of apartments on the site, they are laid out in such a way you don't overlook others and you never feel overlooked yourself.

The grounds are perfectly manicured and beautiful, the staff all speak English and are very helpful. The pool is heated, but it is solar heated, so when we went in October, the heat from the sun was only managing to keep the pool at about 22degC, which meant it was a challenge to get into the pool - although not too bad once in so long as you kept moving. The children younger children got cold quite quickly.

There is an onsite restaurant, although since we were there out of season, the restaurant was closed for most of the time we were there - the menu did look good though, if a little pricey.

Our only major issue was internet access. There is Wifi internet access available at the open air bar (which, like the restaurant, was closed most of the time we were there), however, it was pretty unreliable and painfully slow. If, like me, you do a job where although you are on vacation, there are some things you have to keep on top of, quickly responding to an email or checking a document is no major hardship, but when it takes two hours to download the document and over three to upload it again, it starts to become a major impact on the holiday.

Jardim Da Meia Praia is some way out of town with no shops nearby, so a hire car, or use of the resorts free daily minibus into town is essential for supplies. The beach is a 10-15 minute drive away, but we stuck with the pool.

Overall, accomodation, location, staff excellent - but for me personally, the internet access issue would be sufficient to prevent me from going back until it is fixed.

“ Lovely accomodation very spacious townhouse set in pleasant gardens. On site restaurant has a very limited menu and is only open during the summer months. Would recommend a car hire although complex does provide a bus service to Lagos.

“ Absolutely loved this place and would definitely go back. The house was set in pretty gardens and it was a very quiet and secure site. Could have done with longer opening hours at the restaurant, plus, as it is a couple of miles out of town, a small shop on site for basics. The beach isn't within walking distance, however, as you need to go into Lagos to gain access (unless you want to trek over a rough track). But it's probably the best self-catering accommodation I've ever stayed in.
