Hotel is in a quiet location overlooking Dona Ana beach which is beautiful.
Although not in the centre there is a bus and tourist train which both stop outside the hotel. The walk into town is around 15 - 20 minutes.
The rooftop pool is a decent size and being on the 5th floor has lovely views.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
Rooms are a little basic, but perfectly adequate and clean.
Breakfast isn't great - simple and repetitive, but overall this hotel is very good value and the location in my opinion is unbeatable.
“ Top Tip: Walk over the cliff tops to Camilo beach, which is quieter than Dona Ana (deserted in early May on a hot day) There is a new, very modern restaurant at the top of the beach steps called O Camilo, specialising in fish. Well worth a visit.

“ A basic hotel, room was small but the balcony looking out to the sea made up for it. I asked for a few items and the maid was at the door before i got there. The staff were friendly and so helpful. The only disappointing thing was the breakfast which was very basic, but i could live with that and would definitely like to go back there again. Well done travel republic. No wonder i keep booking with you.
“ Top Tip: The staff told me about restaurant paraiso, fantastic freshly homemade food. well recommended.

This hotel is a great place to stay. Spotlessly clean and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. We loved having breakfast on the rooftop terrace overlooking the sea. The rooftop pool is lovely. The hotel is very close to the beach but there are a lot of wooden steps to get down so you need to be fit! Extremely quiet location so if you like rowdy then this is not for you. Good 15 minute walk into town but there is a local bus 1.45 euro and 4 euro for a late night taxi back. Wifi only available in the reception area so there were quite a few people there with their phones or laptops. Air con was a must as it was very hot whilst we were there (September) and it was included in the price of the room which some hotels would try to charge extra for. TV easily tuned to receive basic english channels so you can keep up with the soaps if this is important to you.
All in all we would definately go back.
“ Top Tip: Lots of great places to eat and drink in town. Live bands on at the weekend at some of the bars on the Marina. A few bars/restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk of the hotel. The 19th hole provided a good menu at a reasonable cost and the waiter was hilarious. There is a SPAR supermarket about 10 min walk away. We bought fresh bread, local cheese and wine and ate on our balcony overlooking the sea - magical.

Very clean, great location, meters from the beach! Breakfast basic, but the best I have had in Portuguese hotels, and on a terrace with a sea view.
The only thing I was disappointed with was the customer service, some of the staff (not everyone) didn't seem that eager to help with ordinary, everyday queries but would not like to go into too much detail as all in all it was a good stay.

“ Clean hotel, superb shower, postage stamp size room (double with balcony), but adequate. Furnishing minimal. No fridge in room which was a great shame. There is a bar, but it was not used much when we were there. Breakfast fairly basic, tinned fruit, watery juices, plastic meat & cheese (one choice), but excellent bread & croissants (one jam type), tea & coffee making machine (join the queue). Located about 15 minute walk to main centre of town, with no immediately adjacent bars or restaurants. Excellent position on cliff top with stunning views from front of hotel (balcony with sea views - well worth the extra), and delightful protected safe beach on doorstep. Didn't use the roof top pool, but it looked clean if a little cramped round the edge. Convenient free parking outside hotel. We paid around £80 per night. Overall, reasonable value.
“ Top Tip: The old part of Lagos is amazing, and crammed full with restaurants and shops. Excellent (wife said "best fish ever") reasonably priced food at Restaurante Casa Baia just outside the main drag, next to the fish market on the marina/river road.
