“ This family owned and run hotel sits on one of the best beaches in the country. The staff are superb and genuinely want to help and make the holiday memorable ...without being "in your face"...Food is good .Excellent choice at breakfast and dinner.A bottle of house wine is under £8.!!!!!(They have their own vineyards)Location is unbeatable.good choice of rooms ..and well worth the extra for seaviews!!Cant wait to return.
“ Top Tip: The restaurant Baraquinnah on the beach directly in front of the hotel is superb!!! local fish, bread olives, salad, cheese and a bottle of wine £2o...for two...and so fresh and tasty. It s the place on the beach !

“ Nice clean Hotel virtually on the beach, good breakfast plenty of choice. Seems to be a shortage of umbrellas round the pool but one can get by.
“ Top Tip: The best restaurant I have found is Migalhas he has now moved to Rua Nova Lisboa, it took us a week to find him.

“ Really good. Exceeded expectations. Large bedroom, not sea view (had not booked seaview) but at the side and we did have a good view of the sea from the balcony. Good variety of food although a little short on food for non meat eaters. Lots of salad items. Thought it was a bargain and would certainly return.D
“ Top Tip: Do book a seaview room, it really is worth the extra. Went to a lovely tiny picturesque village on the coast, Cacela Velha, worth a trip for a coffee if you have a car.

“ Although the rooms are in need of refurbing, all your basic needs are catered for,the staff are helpful and polite, the restaurant caters for all tastes and the food is cooked very well, with plenty of it,the pool area,Gym and crazy golf are an additional aid for those feeling energetic, while the beach on which this hotel is built is one of the best with ample sunbeds and parasoles.I will definitely be going there again, good value for money in these difficult times
“ Top Tip: Tony;s bar has all the english premier league matches and when there are no matches you can enjoy british pop from the 50's to the 90's,while enjoying a cheap beer

“ The Vasco Da Gama is a good, quality, hotel that is popular with guests of all ages. I stayed there recently for a week and I enjoyed my stay. The room was clean and comfortable with UK and Sky channels available on the tv. The towels were replaced and the room was cleaned on a regular daily basis and the quality of the food was generally good. I stayed on a half-board basis and enjoyed a good breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast with coffee and fruit juice ( give the sausages a miss though unless you enjoy spicy salami) and the evening meals were also good; the pan-fried liver I chose one evening was particularly tasty; all meals are served buffet-style. The staff at the Vasco are friendly and although I went out away from the hotel on an evening there is entertainment every night in the hotel bar and lounge. Good, clean swimming pools, crazy golf and smaller pools are available for the little ones together with a children's play - area and the hotel is suitable for all ages. I've stayed at the Vasco Da Gama before and will do so again but I would like to see the single room supplement abolished - like it used to be at the Vasco - which is currently at an additional 70% charge per night for the single traveller!
“ Top Tip: I found a few nice bars and cafes near the hotel within easy walking distance. I recommend a visit to the Bar Talisma ( Talisman's Bar ) in the main square the one with the 'red chairs' outside. You can enjoy a good pint of the local Super Bock beer for 2 Euros, coffees at 1 Euro and a Brandy with coffee also at 2 Euros. The service is good and friendly, the owners have Sky Sports with all the English and Scottish Premier games on live and it's a lovely little sun-trap when the weather is good!
