Local Tips: There are excellent places for night life nearby, like Casino da Rocha that offers international-style cabaret shows.
FACILITIES:Food & drink: Self Catering accommodation. Flor da Rocha Hotel has a pool bar/snack bar open from June to September. This property is within very close walking distance to a multitude of bars and restaurants.
Sports, games and activities: Adults outdoor swimming pool, outdoor children's swimming pool, games room (open from June to September). Golfers will find the most elite Golf Courses on the Algarve close by including Alto Golf Course (3 km), Penina Golf Course (6 km), as well as Palmares Golf, Gramacho Course and Salgados Golf Club all within 35 km of the hotel.

Room Facilities:
The Flor da Rocha Hotel features one bedroom and two bedroom apartments that can accommodate up to 4 and 6 people respectively. All one and two bedroom apartments have separate twin or double bedroom, lounge/dining area with sofa beds, kitchenette with fridge, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, bathroom with bath and shower, amenities, safe deposit box (extra charge), and a balcony. One baby cot per unit is available on request free of charge, subject to availability.

The apartment represents excellent value for money and for the price you can't complain, I would certainly go back.
The staff were friendly and helpful and available 24/7.
It's a great location 5 minutes to Praia Da Rocha and the night life, however if you can't manage steps / steep ish hill then Portimao doesn't offer the best beach access (irrespective of where you stay) given the wonderful coastal cliffs.
I didn't use the pool given the fantastic beach however, it looked perfectly adequate if you are so inclined.
An irons is available on request , but there is no ironing board which is a shame as otherwise it was fantastically equipped... 2 x electric hob, Microwave, blender, fridge freezer, pots and pans etc. It was a bit short on bowls for making things / salads / etc.
There is a small portable TV, but I hasten to add I didn't switch it on once during my stay.
A large Continente supermarket is about 15 minutes walk or aprox €3.50 taxi and there is a large shopping centre (Aqua) accessible by bus. There are plenty of local shops and mini supermarkets, but some things are pricey so I'd recommend you make the most of a taxi to the supermarket and stock up.
Wifi is available however there is a charge and many places along Praia Da Rocha offer "free" (when you have a drink or meal) wifi, which is fairly inevitable.
My one speculation is that at the height of the season it could be a little on the noisy side however at the end of September it was fine and the ideal time to get away from it all and relax.

Top Tip:
Praia Da Rocha (particularly along the front) is a bit commercial and tacky (Irish bars, red lion, etc). I would suggest you hop on the bus or a short taxi (< 2Km) to Largo Do Dique and the immediate area to see the port and check out some great Portuguese restaurants.
The sunsets and sunrises are amazing so get yourself to the viewing point at the top of the road and along the beach in the early morning and evening time for some great experiences and photos.

No restaurant , shop or playground as advertised. Nothing to do but swim in pool or play tennis. Very noisy. Staff excellent, location - ok for strip but not for food shopping. Great for young groups, not so good for families with small children.
Get what you pay for though, so not terrible as the acyual accomodation was absolutely fine, it just seems stripped of its facilities.
