A small, cosy, friendly hotel, located on the outskirts of the small traditional town of Silves, Algarve, Portugal. Great views of the Moorish castle and the cathedral. Close enough to walk into the town, where there are several nice restaurants. The hotel has a small restaurant and bar. Prices very reasonable. Rooms basic but clean and comfortable.
Only criticism would be the coffee with breakfast is from a machine and tastes horrible but you can buy proper coffee from the bar at a modest cost.
I would stay here again without hesitation.

“ Top Tip: The restaurant a little down the hill on other side of road called Laderia is fab for Chicken Piri Piri.

The hotel has lovely views overlooking the town, castle etc,about 5 minute walk to the nearest restaurant.
The swimming pool has similar views with well kept gardens
The staff are polite and helpful and our room/beds were clean. The hotel is a little dated but ok if you are visiting for a couple of days.

Top Tip:
We found an excellent restaurant - Casa Ingles, just on the steps below the castle, on Sunday lunchtimes they have live bands (you have to book to get a table on the outside terrace) .
Also a great pub/ restaurant called O Cais, just on the main road nr the bridge. They have a good jam session late Sunday afternoons, also excellent food

“ A lovely place to stay with fantastic views of Silves especially the castle and the old part. Everything fine except for the drinks at breakfast - the coffee and the water for tea was too cold - didn't attempt the rest. good value for money.
“ Top Tip: Silves real close for eating etc a lovely place. We used lonely planet's recommendations.

“ This was our second visit to this hotel. The place was clean and tidy with everything working. continental breakfast was as expected with excellent fruit. This was February therefore the pools were empty, but as expected. Value for money was great seeing as we only paid £60 each for a week B&B. Try to avoid the rooms starting with 2, as they are below the main floor and will experience noise from the the tiled floor when people are dining. Plenty of free parking.
“ Top Tip: February is a great time to see this area. Minimal traffic, cheap accomodation and car hire. People are generaly friendly and helpful. In Silves try the Romana restautant for a little more authentic dining. Plenty of eating/drinking holes to suit most needs. Dont go to this area for a busy night life and there isn't a lot for the kids if the pools are closed.
