Golden Club Cabanas Hotel

“ Dear Holidaymaker,

It is not my intention to tell you how much “we” enjoyed our holiday, or how the weather was during “our” stay, or how pleasant/rude the staff were to “us” because these factors may be different for you. What I want to do is let you know the facts about this place so you can get a reasonable idea of what to expect.

We are a family of 3 (Dad, Mum & 10 Year old); we stayed all-inclusive from February 9th – February 16th 2012.

Location – Ideally located in the fishing Town of Cabanas. There is a lovely walk along the boardwalk where you’ll find a few reasonably priced bars/restaurants, but not many shops. There is a bus and train for hose who want to explore. (family rating 8/10)

Food & Drink – Not a lot of choice, but everything was edible. The menu was a little repetitive and desert choice was jelly, mousse or fruit. The bar had a reasonable selection of drinks; the local Port was a popular choice. ( family rating 6/10)

Entertainment – None, unless you like football. ( family rating 1/10)

Facilities – Excellent in-door pool, spa bath, sauna and steam-room. Also available were gym, squash courts and tennis courts. There is a water taxi to the beach, and canoe/bike hire is available. ( family rating 8/10)

Room – Good standard. Comfortable with all the facilities you require. ( family rating 7/10)

Overall – Good (family rating 7/10)

“ We went on a weeks all inclusive to Cabanas . I have to say it was brilliant, we went out of season so it was quite and there was no entertainment but it was so relaxing.

The room was clean and the staff were brilliant. The hotel is currently retiling the outside pool and doing maintenance work within the hotel.
The food was great and plenty on offer,my 4 year old eat most of the food and the day he didnt like the food, the kitchen staff cooked him some fish fingers.
The alcohol was fine superbock went down nicely with dinner.

Cabanas is a lovely little fishing village and the beach is outstanding !!

We travelled around east algarve via the train which is only a 20 min walk and very reasonable although beware they were always bang on time so get there early.

We are plannin on going back in October hopefully, would recommend this hotel.

“ very disappointed,first impression was how run down the outside looked. receptionist very helpful and imformative.room was adequate,beds clean,food left a lot to be desired-always cool never hot.staff on the whole polite and helpfull.
there was no entertainment as advertised. transport into tavira from cabanas left outside the hotel but not too frequent,but always punctual

“ Top Tip: entertainment finishes at the end of october-take games card ect.
car hire a must unless your holiday is one for sitting around the pool all-may be better earlier in the year our holiday was mid-november

“ A good basic hotel well worth the money paid for the stay, the room was clean and a good size. The main food area was clean and bright the selection was adequate, the afternoon snacks on the all inclusive option were limited and of poor quality.
