“ Top Tip: across entrance is a restuarant called guerreros good food, cheap and a barcardi and coke was 4.50euros for over a pint. wife had one and was gibbering

“ Great hotel close to all the towns amenities although slight hills in any direction (but you do get a great view from the room and particularly from the roof bar).Cant see why anyone whinges about the hotel although the hall carpets on floor two do need a clean, not disasterous. The island beach is fantastic although you do have to put yourself out at this time of year as the ferry is a 2k. walk out of town. Choose your restaurants carefully as most are fairly ordinary but good value. Brisa d Rio better than most. Tavira is a lovelly place and will go again perhaps in June or September as the weather was not teriffic.

“ TO BE HONEST, FOR THE ONLINE PRICE WE HAD PAID, WE WERE NOT EXPECTING MUCH, BUT TO OUR DELIGHT THE HOTEL WAS EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE. THE STAFF WERE POLITE AND HELPFUL [ARRANGING TAXIS ETC.], THE ROOM SPACIOUS AND AIRY WITH A BALCONY AND VIEW. THE VIEW WILL BE BETTER WHEN THE NEARBY BUILDING IS COMPLETE ! EXCELLENT BATHROOM FACILITIES AND WARDROBES YOU COULD GET LOST IN, VERY GOOD.
THE ROOFTOP BAR / TERRACE WAS DELIGHTFUL WITH WONDERFUL VIEWS TOWARDS THE SEA AND FISHING HARBOUR, DISAPPOINTING WAS THE PRICE AND QUALITY OF SOME OF THE DRINKS COMPARED TO LOCAL BARS [EXPECTED ?].
THE TERRACES AROUND THE OUTDOOR POOLS WERE MARVELLOUS, CLEAN, WELL-KEPT AND SAPCIOUS. I WOULD IMAGINE THAT IN THE HEIGHT OF THE SUMMER THE POOLSIDE WOULD BE VERY POPULAR, PARTICULARLY IF THE BAR WAS OPEN !
THE TOWN IS A FIVE MINUTE WALK AWAY AND WELL WORTH IT, THE OLD TOWN IS FULL OF BARS AND EATERIES AND VERY FRIENDLY, THE HARBOUR AND TOWN SQUARES ARE GREAT PLACES TO WANDER AROUND AND THERE APPEARS TO BE SOMETHING GOING ON ALL THE TIME, A BRILLIANT LITTLE TOWN !

“ To sum up - great value for money. Stayed here recently and paid £45 for four nights for single occupancy of a double room with hill view - that a little over £11 a night! For that I got a quiet, spotless clean ensuite room on four floor with a little balcony. Enjoyed use of pool area on sunny days. Didn't have breakfast, but used brilliant Venezuela cafe just a few minutes walk away close to Porta Nova station for that. Also didn't bother with indoor pool or other facilities. Hotel very close to centre of town, but up a steep hill, so maybe not the best for those with mobility problems. Not sure if it matches up to its four-star rating, but, off-season at least, it definitely represents brilliant value for the sort of money I paid.
