Albergaria Sao Sebastiao Hotel

“ Hotel was great for what we wanted ,a short break away from the main resorts and noisy holiday makers.The hotel was mainly used for short stays and business people.I think that we were the only British travellers there.Excellent service from all the staff,very friendly especially Isabel,she was lovely.Breakfast although only continental was great,fresh and plenty of choice,but might get a bit repetitive if you stayed there for a while,but that can be said about most other hotels.

There is an excellent cafe within a few yards and a mini-market just across the road with Bank,Chemist about 400 yds away.Other bars dotted around but these seemed just for the locals.
Ideally, you do need a car.We managed to catch a bus to Albefeira but these were not running very often.
Although food and drink were a lot cheaper in the village,we would have liked to have facilities to make a hot drink in the room .Swimming pool-empty for most of the time-really peaceful as most of the other guests appeared to go for the day to the beach by car.

“ The hotel was lovely, absolutely spotlessly clean and the pool was great. The staff were always helpful and able to answer any questions we had.
The only criticism is that the beds, although fairly new, were too hard and uncomfortable which was a pity. The only other point to make is that the Hotel website states that the beach is 5 minutes away which we found a bit of an exageration, it took nearly 10 minutes to drive to the nearest beach, having said that it was not a problem - to stay at this hotel you definately need a car which we had.

“ Top Tip: Frazers Tapas Bar just a short walk up the hill and around the corner - very nice and not too expensive, we also went to Van Gogh which was also very good but a little more pricey.
