“ Hi the hotel and the rooms were very clean and the hotel staff were wonderful, the breakfast was laid out to everybodys taste and there was Wi Fi for the laptop people. I will be back to stay again and by the way the twin room was just right for two people . Thank you . PS Wonderful old building !!!
“ Top Tip: There are plenty of good restaurants back of the hotel and in the city centre 10 to 15 mins walk and along towards the river, very pleasent and very laid back wonderful city and everybody is so friendly we will be back !!

Good vegetarian food is not always easy to find in Portugal, but the Astoria came up trumps with the mushroom risotto. Also, try the recommended wine, not cheap (some of it 400e a bottle from 1953!) but go for the 25e and you won't be disappointed.
Not for those who want luxury, but the architecture more than compensates for the need for a lick of paint... Great lift!
“ Top Tip: Park between the Hotel and the river. The parking is free at night, but give the "attendant" a couple of euros and he'll help you park......
