“ Hotel was adequate and nothing special to offer. Staff ok but unenthusiastic.
“ Top Tip: Found Coimbra depressing. I could blame it on the credit crunch but there is little to offer tourists. The streets dirty and unkept. The people are lovely and friendly. The food is bland; badly cooked and presented; the restaurants uninspiring. Unfortunately I was also mugged whilst there which didn't help matters.

“ It is well, a little old but the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Although not in the historical center is the best four star hotel located in the city. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The only flaw is that the restaurant staff is a bit slow to respond, but otherwise the stay was perfect.
