“ Rooms are small. Air conditioner is very noisy. The hotel is quite dated at parts.

Top Tip:
Opposite the train station and close to the bus depot for airport bus.
Good location as water bus station is across the bridge. Water bus transport is very convenient.

“ This hotel was a convenient location from the airport, which was a 5 minute walk from the airport bus stop, and about 20 minutes from the city centre. The Britania Hotel is in a quiet location, and a luxuriously elegant style of decor. The hotel staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. We selected the hotel without any personal recommendation and were more than pleased with the care and attention we received. We were celebrating our Silver Wedding Anniversary and were treated to a bottle of bubbly and strawberries (highly recommended!), which were left in our room. The hotel very clean and the breakfast menu was extensive. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Lovely hotel with a wonderful atmosphere. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and happy to just stop and chat about the days adventures.
Great to stop by late afternoon for china tea and cake (and a little port if you wish) before heading out for dinner

Top Tip:
Excellant restaurent just a few doors away (Rubus) but closed on Sundays. Scarmento in Baixu-Chadu also excellant although a little more pricey.
Give the botantical gardens a miss. Some lovely trees to discover but many of the paths are roped off and hopefully being repaired.
Day tickets for Metro, buses and trolley cars are all you need to get around.

“ I loved this hotel, staff very helpful and friendly. lots of charm with its 1940 s feel and old photos. comfy beds and we had a large room. tea and cakes served in the afternoons and Port available in the evenings. close to the Metro and easy walk into the old parts of the City.
