Excellent location, the room we had was small but that was not really important as we were out all the time- room was clean and beds extremely comfortable. Loved the Sky bar with lovely views over Lisbon. Drinks were surprisingly reasonably priced for a hotel of this standard. Ate in the Brasserie restaurant, special 2 course meal, food was good and not too expensive. Staff were friendly and helpful.
As the hotel had a lovely pool, great after a day sightseeing, I would go back.
Is it five star? Perhaps not having stayed in many five star hotels but it is not far off and is value for money.
Join the Tivoli's loyalty programme on arrival and you will get free internet access and a daily newspaper of your choice. Have an Espresso machine at home? Take some capsules as they charge 2.50 euros each for the coffee machine in your room.
Eat at the fish restaurant Ribadouro, just down the road-best garlic prawns ever!

“ Top Tip: We got a train to Caiscais, it only took 40 mins and cost a few Euros and was well worth it...we ate at an beautiful place overlooking a little bay, think it was called Esplanade Santa Marta, food was really reasonable and lovely.

“ Very pleasant staff and extremely comfortable room. Location is central , taxis in Lisbon are cheap and plentiful though so as long as you are within easy access of a taxi rank being central is not that crucial.

The Windows were filthy. The void between the secondary glazing panels was really dirty, with bits of fag ash in there.
The bathroom had black mould in some areas of the tiling which were poorly sealed and had allowed water to get in.
The shower head fell off because the clip was broken(this was rectified immediately)
The toilet seat was "blown" due to water getting behind the surface in two areas.
The traffic noise was unbearable with the window open, but with the window closed the air conditioning was noisy.
Generally, this is a 5 star hotel because it has all the facilities required to make it so, however, it is a bit tired, and could use some money and TLC.
“ Top Tip: 400 metres downhill on the same side of the road, is an excellent fish restaurant.
